Re: Problem with boot by pen drive

Thank you for correcting me on that, I did mean to post fat 32
That could very well be the problem if the OP formatted the pen drive to NTFS

Re: Problem with boot by pen drive

The only time I have had that problem is when I had a low quality flash drive .
Maybe try booting up in safe mode and installing from there ...

Re: nvidia gtx 1060

It takes some time for Linux to get the right drivers for new products (not just SolydXK but Linux in general) I was in the same situation when I built a new computer and had the new Nvidia 750TI . Several months later a driver was released and all was well. It's just a waiting game but, eventually ...

Re: Clock/Date/Timezone

I had the same problem with the time being 4 hours different and after several tries I found out that if I uncheck UTC time and just used my local time the time now stays correct.

Re: The new SolydXK - Q+A

I like the way SolydK is running right now so I don't think I'll be switching to the Enthusiast's Editions right away. I'll let all of you give it awile first lol. ;)

I just don't want to be messing around with bugs or software issues.

Re: Trouble playing Audio CDs

I have great luck with Audacious as my main music player. You can just play a cd or drag and drop from your music collection and Rock On !

Best of luck

UEFI and Windows 8 Update on Windows/Linux dual-boot systems

Interesting article on just another way MS ( Main Streamers) try to make it difficult for someone to use Linux.

Re: GeForce GTX 750 Ti GPU

Ah well, no love yet for the Nvidia. I just installed the new UP on my Linux computer, (Great Job Guy's) and burned a new disc and tried it out on the other computer with the GTX 750 ti and still can't run even the live disc. I was hoping to install SolydX on this computer in case I had troubles wit...

Re: Server not working?

Well, I'm not the brightest bulb in the package but could I use a 1TB External HDD for this and leave it connected while I still use my computer for other things ? Understand , I'm not a geek and this will be the first time I've tried anything like this. Also, I get my internet connection through Co...

Re: Cant boot dvd

Unknown chipset refers to the parts of the motherboard the connects the CPU to the rest of the computer. so I'm guessing maybe compatability issue. Not sure how to fix that.

Safe Mode

While putzin' around with a new graphics card ( Nvidia 750ti OC ) I was unable to even a run a Live CD with the exception of a couple distro's that offered Safe Mode . I was able to install only those and while never gaining the proper aspect ratio due to lack of new supporting drivers, I was able t...
