Slightly annoying problem with dual monitors.

I have dual monitors set up on the desktop. A 24" & a 19". The 24" is set as primary. I run SolydK HE on that computer. What my annoyance is, I have to add a panel to the second monitor because when I minimize a browser window, it minimizes to the second monitor, & have no way to maximize it again w...

Re: Ready for the transition and new ISOs

I just updated my laptop (SolydK BE 64bit) & the changeover went perfectly. Thanks to all the team for a great job putting this together.

Re: [SOLVED] How did this happen

Thanks guys. Burned both & ran them each live to have a look. The SolydK BE one runs well & installed that on the 2nd hard drive I have, but the nightly build not so well. The nightly build one wouldn't boot as is. It went past GRUB then just hung with a flashing dash on a black screen. I restarted ...

[SOLVED] How did this happen

Downloaded a nightly build last week. Ended up with a 1.6G TEXT DOC. Downloaded new SolydK BE last night. Ended up with a 1.4G TEXT DOC. This downloaded from the SolydXK main page. WHY, HOW, did I end up with text docs? Same computer, same browser, downloaded Fedora 21 few days ago. Ended up with an...

<off-topic>Slightly off-topic here  but I gotta say I see a world of frustration in your future. Just sayin'</off-topic> I would have thought so too, but it hasn't happened. Because I don't think he has installed SolydK on his computer yet. 3 weeks after I mailed the distro to him in Septe...

Re: Important SolydXK news

I have no worries with the Solyd HE editions going over to Stable branch. I realize quite a few people love having the most up to date software, but I'm not one of them. If the programs that are installed work for me I'm happy. As you can see by my siggy, I have SolydK BE on the laptop & it's been o...

Re: Important SolydXK news

Thank you so much for this great distro Arjen. Yourself, Zerozero & the rest of the team have done a marvellous job putting it all together & making it work as well as it does. I realize it must take a huge amount of time to keep it going smoothly, time not spent with your family. So I understand pe...

Re: One tune a day ...

One of the very few singers I have actually met & spoken to. Slim & his wife Joy stopped in Port Pirie to do some shopping when I lived there in the early '90s. I spoke to them for a few minutes after they got out of their car, & it was a real pleasure. They were such a down to earth couple. 8E0aZ38...

Re: What is this please?

Frustration in my future Scott? Nah, that's already happened, ever since I've seriously tried to get him to try Linux. So let's see, that would be like nearly 12 months ago when I was using Mint 14 & was going to send him that. But it's only a minor inconvenience in the big scheme of things. W...

Re: What is this please?

Perhaps you could put SolydXK on a USB drive and mail it to him. He can take it for a test drive and run HardInfo to find out the hardware info for you. Trying to get him to do that would be like trying to teach a dog to drive. It would probably take forever. He still hasn't sent some photos he sai...

Re: What is this please?

If you sent him SolydK BE, then his update issues will be at a minimum. That's another problem again. I would have sent him BE except it's 64 bit & I don't know if his computer is only 32 bit or 64 bit compatible like mine is. So I sent him HE 32 bit to be on the safe side. I asked him that questio...

Re: What is this please?

Well I bit the bullet & sent my mate SolydK on Wednesday. Was talking to him again last night & he was complaining about his Windows Vista again. Then he started whinging about getting updates for it all the time. Somehow I don't think he's going to like SolydK, or any Linux distro for that matter, ...

Re: What is this please?

Yes snap, that's what I think the case might be, but can't be sure unless I actually know the layout etc as Orb mentioned above. @Scott. Great suggestion mate, but somehow I can't see him wanting to do that. One consolation is that his son lives in the same city. The son has worked with computers (c...

Re: What is this please?

G'day Orb. Thanks. Yeah, that was something I'm going to do because trying to get him to actually tell me over the phone doesn't seem to make me any wiser.
