Re: Btrfs file system scan delays boot

Kurotsugi, Was quite correct: "AFAIK the btrfs check is a simple test and will be finished on less than 1 seconds. the monitor shows 'btrfs scan' then stopped for several seconds because most user have 'quiet' in the boot parameter. the actual process should have been finished." It was finished, the...

Btrfs file system scan delays boot

All,
I've noticed on all the machines I have Solydx on that the boot pauses while scanning for Btrfs file system. None of the machines use the btrfs file system. Does anyone know a way to stop this scan?
I've searched the web about this and tried removing btrfs-tools without any success.

Re: Using Serviio to stream music from SolydK desktop to TV

OK, Find the folder that Serviio was installed is into /home?. Find the sub folder /Bin/ inside you will find two files : serviio.sh( the media server) serviio-console.sh(the gui to set everything up). these files might need to be set as executable." Linux - run Serviio server with bin/serviio.sh (w...

Hi,
If you like using a GUI ,try "Settings" "Appearence" then the Fonts tab, you will be able to select and tweak your font from that panel. Very nice suggestions!

Re: PAE kernel?

Ok just booted with the 3.10.2 kernel and file transfers to the Kindel works fine. Thanks for that heads up Fletch! So this is a real bug in the new kernel. I learned a few months ago not to be so anal and keep a few older kernels just in case. :)

Re: PAE kernel?

Fletch, I had the same thing happen on my AMD 64 Solydx machine. I'm unable to connect to a Kindle HDX while my son who is running Solydx 32 from several months ago has no problem. My daughter uses the AMD 64 machine and it is also our media server. I also installed MTP etc. to no avail.I've searche...

Can't browse local network SOLVED

Hi, I have a weird problem on my 64bit Solydx desktop. I get this message when trying to browse LAN "Failed to open "/ on ". . The 32 bit Solydx laptops see all the network machines fine. Has anyone else seen this? Sorry including results of inxi -F ,seems to show I have the infamous Realtek 8169 dr...

Re: Nvidia/libcairo2 memory use

Oooh wish I would have checked here before doing a test reinstalling Nvidia driver 304.117, with smxi by the way DDM just didn't work. Anyhow I can confirm the memory bug is still present. I went from ~200mb with nouveau to over 600mb with Nvidia. As a point of interest smxi failed removing nouveau ...

Re: Nvidia/libcairo2 memory use

I don't want to try using the Nonfree nvidia drivers. It was too hard to get everthing sorted out the last time. If anyone else is willing, it would be nice to know if this is still a problem. I use Glances from the cl to monitor memorey use.

Updatemanager Won't run greyed out in panel

Update Manager fails to run on amd 64bit Solydx most recent update (from terminal). I've tried uninstalling and purging with the same results. When running from terminal I get: No module named webkit Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/solydxk/updatemanager/updatemanager.py", line 1500...

Re: Can't change Cursor themes [Maybe lightdm related]

This might need a new post but my son reminded me last night why I was looking at another login manager. All four Solydx installations (3 32bit 1 64 bit) sometimes freeze up at the lightdm login especially if you hit the enter key instead of clicking with a mouse for the password . Hence using Slim....
