Re: UP 2014.10.15

@zerozero I know you are a busy man, but did you by chance have any insight into the output of what I posted for the items you requested in my previous post? http://forums.solydxk.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=4853&start=60#p45949 I cleaned up my repos a bit, I removed the seemingly dead "community" repo...

Re: UP 2014.10.15

I boldly upgrade my main PC at work, saw some disturbing messages, but everything was fine, in the end. Looks like something the team warned about: (gtk-update-icon-cache-3.0:3761): GdkPixbuf-WARNING **: Cannot open pixbuf loader module file '/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loaders....

Re: UP 2014.10.15

@abqnm It sounds like a kernel issue. I googled for "Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller" and found these to be interesting: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75723 workaround: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=332784#c3 Some people booted the old kernel to get it all wo...

Re: UP 2014.10.15

This UP has fixed some things, while it has broken some things terribly. First, now I can use the current kernel for the first time since 3.11-2. Every kernel since would cause my display not to wake back up after closing the lid. The 3.16-2 is the first kernel since that allows my display to wake ...

Re: UP 2014.10.15

Sorry to start a second topic, but I think I may have gotten lost in another issue thread. http://forums.solydxk.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=4853&p=45857#p45857 is my original post further up. I have added more information a few times. Any help would be appreciated. Having ten minutes of instability af...

Re: Thank you - most trouble free update so far!

It didn't go well for me. After the update disappeared and went back to the Desktop, I lost the Update Manager Shield on the Panel taskbar. It's not there anymore and now I have to figure out what went wrong. I'm first going to re-start the system and see if it brings it back. This problem seems si...

Re: UP and BE/BO 2014.04.15

I think the grub update needs to not automatically advance without user input, otherwise it could wind up skipping the grub setup for someone who isn't paying strict attention. I haven't seen that in all our testing. What language were you using? English-US. The GRUB (man?) page showed up saying th...

Re: UP and BE/BO 2014.04.15

So far so good with SolydK 32-bit (still updating, but the new updater method is nice - the old one didn't work for me so I always had to use the terminal). I did have one minor usability issue with the GRUB update screen. It does show up as indicated in the guide, but after selecting OK on the desc...

Re: UP 2014.01.15 [PRODUCTION]

Hi abqnm, and welcome to our forum! I love it when people solve their own problems, and write about it in this forum! Thanks for the quick reply, even though I had fixed it already! I would much rather share experiences in case others encounter it as well since you can't always be available. I do a...

Re: UP 2014.01.15 [PRODUCTION]

Edit: Fixed. Hello! I have to say I love SolydK. I did complete the UP today, with one issue. After updating, I can only get a maximum display resolution of 1024x768 and I cannot set my display resolution back to native (1280x800). The Intel driver (2:2.21.15-1+b2) is still installed and seems to b...
