Re: SolydC - How to add Cinnamon 2.0 to SolydXK

Yes, when I installed Cinnamon 2.0 on top of Manjaro XFCE I did not get all of the extra gnome stuff. (shell, nautilus, gnome-control-center, et.). Must be some Gnome pkg in Debian that requires all the extra gnome pkgs. Actually XFCE has always been my preferred DE. As Hinto said, I get it with no...

Re: Show your Desktop Screenshots

Those look awesome...I've always like the 'wood' look to a desktop going back to my early Linux days :) Thanks :) They go very well with a variety of nature backdrops too. One of these days I have to figure out how to get Plasma to match - it was so easy in the old days when you could just pick any...

jsvenancio, The Orange SolydX logo is an image....where it loads from is referenced in your .conkyrc file. To change that would require Gimping it. :geek:

Re: anyone have luck installing and updating steam with Soly

Steam is going to update itself once you install it....I don't think it matters where you get the initial install. But Crusader Kings II is smokin' in SolydX :)

Re: anyone have luck installing and updating steam with Soly

The repo version for me was timing out....so I installed the Steam App from the web site....no problems. It has since updated itself also. I'm using Xfce.

Re: How to watch Netflix no SolydK?

+1 on the Netflix Desktop...I installed it through Synaptic after opening up the appropriate repo. It's a very very benign install so don't worry about messing up your Debian :) I use it everyday now, and it always works. HD too. It uses pipelight and a silverlight installer. http://forums.solydxk.n...

I never had that panel plugin after initial install. Interesting.

Re: HOWTO: Install Netflix/Pipelight in SOLYDXK

Ok....the ultimate solution (for me) is to install Netflix Desktop with the opensuse.org debian repo (listed above in pipelight instructions) enabled. This requires as dependencies: wine-silverlight5.1-installer pipelight When launched, Netflix Desktop will download and install "one" mono file, and ...
