Re: No "Shut Down" or "Restart" only "Log Out".

The "Action Button" on the panel was were I had the problem as well as the one in the menu. Both "shut down" and "restart" were greyed out with only "log out" as the only option that would work. Doesn't matter, I've moved back to Manjaro for the time being. Thanks for the reply though.

Re: I'm Back.

Ok, so being back was short lived. I'm going to give Manjaro one more chance before I switch to something else. It was only really buggy on one laptop and doing a clean install seems to have fixed the "problem" for now. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Besides, I was even starting to have issu...

No "Shut Down" or "Restart" only "Log Out".

I added a button to the panel so I can shut down or restart and I don't have those options at all. Only Log Out. Wonder what's the matter?

I'm Back.

After a couple three months of playing around with Antergos and Manjaro, both Arch based Distros and both pretty decent I'm back running SolydX. I just got tired of the daily updates with Antergos, especially with having 3 laptops that I had to keep up to date on a daily basis. Manjaro wasn't too ba...

SolydX doesn't work with Kino and crashes with OpenShot.

There is a problem with Kino, some kind of broken Lib that can't be fixed so Kino won't work and OpenShot will crash quite a bit during use. Just wanted to point this out to ya'll. Thanks.

Re: repositries query

Sometimes Repos are just down, other times your ISP may not get you hooked up to the Repo. I had GPG errors for over a week with some Kali Repos then they "magically" fixed themselves and the GPG errors went away. Give it a few days, make sure your internet connection is right and give it another try.

Re: What's happening with SolydXK repos?

Sometimes Repos go down or have issues. I know for about a week I got GPG errors from a couple of the Repos on a Kali install that I have. Then, one day I did my standard "sudo apt-get update" and all was well. Then next thing you know the Point Linux Repos had an issue with GPG for a couple days an...

Re: bluetooth applet

I have my adapter settings "Hidden" and I still have the icon for Bluetooth showing in the panel. I don't want my adapter to be shown because then everyone around me can see it. Hit Synaptic and add the top three packages that you see when you type in "Bluetooth" in search and Bob's your Uncle. That...

3 of my 4 computers are running SolydX.

Been a wild ride over the last year with Linux. Moved to it when my iMac died and I didn't want to deal with Windows so I got a couple used PC's and installed Ubuntu 12.04LTS on em' to see how Linux would work out and it was pretty good so I continued my little "Quest" for the perfect Distro. Didn't...

Re: SSD Install Question.

Just a "heads up", I got the Kingston SSD's today and I had to do a Firmware upgrade right out of the gate. It's easy enough, you download the Firmware upgrade from Kingston's web site, open it and burn the .iso to a CD(won't work from a USB) then it'll boot to it and do the upgrade. You'll lose all...

Re: Any plans for SDR and ADS-B support?

Thank God, my prayers have been answered. This means I can move away from Kali which eats up a ton of drive space with all those "extras" that I don't need and move to SolydX. This IS Awesome News. :D

Re: Any plans for SDR and ADS-B support?

I downloaded all the .deb files from here: https://packages.debian.org/source/testing/gqrx-sdr and links from there as well. So you're saying that Gqrx WILL be in all of the Testing Repos on April 15th? So I just need to wait and I'll be able to access Gqrx through Synaptic(like I do now in Kali) in...

Re: Any plans for SDR and ADS-B support?

Well, my best attempts at installing Gqrx from .deb packages(16 different Dependencies IIRC) was a total failure. So was my attempt at adding the Kali Repos to SolydX. My only option is if you good folks at SolydX put Gqrx and all it's Dependencies into YOUR Repos so I can install it from Synaptic. ...

Re: SSD Install Question.

"Really, $30 bucks isn't worth going through the hassle of borking a system because of fstab errors, LOL." $30 ? Where did you buy them ? I'd like to explore the source........... There's a place on EBay that has Kingston 32GB SSD's for $30+just under $3 shipping. That's around $1 a GB which is pre...

Re: SSD Install Question.

Just got done doing a clean install of SolydX on the ol' Netbook. Seems to be running fine now as I'm on it right now. To tell you the truth, I've gotten so use to doing installs because of my Distor Hopping for a couple three months that it's all old hat to me. I can almost install a Distro in my s...

Re: SSD Install Question.

Well, messing with fstab ended up borking my wife's Netbook. Guess I'll reinstall the op system and leave it alone. So a few extra writes to the SSD will only let it last 5 years instead of 10, probably won't have the Netbook in 5 years anyway,LOL Lesson learned, sometimes ya' just have to leave wel...

gqrx-sdr is at the moment in debian testing http://packages.qa.debian.org/g/gqrx-sdr.html you can either wait until the April 15th and install it with the next UP or follow this procedure http://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3030#p28738 to get it now (in point 3 you'll replace gambas3 with ...

Re: SSD Install Question.

I used "discard" because this web site said that's what should be done. http://namhuy.net/1563/how-to-tweak-and-optimize-ssd-for-ubuntu-linux-mint.html if you think fstrim would work better I can always change it. Also I was told that I needed to leave the "rw" in so I put that back in as well. I've...

Re: bluetooth applet

Hit Synaptic and install a few more Bluetooth packages, that's what I had to do. Not sure which one was the "magic" package but my Bluetooth icon is always there and on by default so I'm always having to turn it off, LOL. Anyway, just add some more Bluetooth stuff from Synaptic and it'll sort it's s...
