Re: SolydC - How to add Cinnamon 2.0 to SolydXK

Please excuse this naive question but why doesn't Cinnamon work properly in Solyd series if it works so well in LMDE since they are both Debian based? I am presuming it is because the LMDE team tweaks and refines its implementation but I was just curious as I would love SolydC to be a reality.

Hi All, I am fairly new to this stuff and added the link provided to the source list and tried the commands but got errors. Has the process changed for installing Cinnamon? Can anyone list the steps I can use to get this working correctly? I am pretty excited about the possibility of getting this wo...

Re: SolydC - How to add Cinnamon 2.0 to SolydXK

This is an interesting idea as I really love the Cinnamon DE and may have to give this a try. I am very happy with SokydX but there are a few features in Cinnamon that I love so if it works well it is a nice option for those that like Cinnamon.

Re: SolydX experience

Hi Claire,

I have used both versions and I have come to prefer SolydX as it has the best of both worlds as far as I am concerned. Speed, beauty and features, that each make it a perfect fit for me.

Re: Help: How to remove 486 kernel, boot directly to 686 pae

It is not a major issue and I do not need to reboot often enough to merit too much research. One thing I am impressed with is how SolydK updates the whole system and does not require a reboot...amazing! Thank you again for all the input and help and such a wonderful distro. You all have a great fan ...

Re: Help: How to remove 486 kernel, boot directly to 686 pae

Woo hoo, I followed your instructions and it removed all the old kernels!

Now all I need to get is the Grub boot not to show and boot straight into SolydK. Is that an easy fix?

Thank you.

Help: How to remove 486 kernel, boot directly to 686 pae?

Thank you for the warm welcome!

How do I go about removing the 486 kernel and having Grub just always boot to 686 kernel and not show me the boot status? I do not care for the Grub boot menu and just want my laptop to restart and go straight into 686 PAE SolydK.

New to SolydK and blown away!

Hi All, Wow, I am completely blown away by SolydK! I was using Ubuntu but wanted a good KDE Debian based, rolling release and had read a lot of reviews and tried several but SolydK was a cut above! I am so glad I discovered this wonderful distro and hope it is around as long as Linux is. I thank the...

Also, I got the panel restored but now applications added to panel are showing on the right side and not the left. Can this be fixed and moved?

Hi All,

Is there a way to restore the panel to default install configuration? I am having trouble with the panel after the update and want to get it restored. Thank you.
