Re: Lots of KDE issues after latest UP

I just wanted to mention that I managed to fix the issue by reinstalling the 201407 ISO and then doing the update (through the Update Manager GUI) before installing any extras. I've tried to fix it without reinstalling but I messed that up pretty bad . One thing that might have contributed (al...

Lots of KDE issues after latest UP

Hello, I'm using SolydK 64-bit and I've recently upgraded to the latest UP. After the upgrade I've started having an issue: a Kresource migration tool would keep popping up and tell me it couldn't migrate the "Default Address Book". Additionally, Kmix and Klipper wouldn't start, and I couldn't watch...

Code: Select all

apt install libgl1-nvidia-glx:i386
[anyway watch for unwanted removals]
Thank you, that worked. I was expecting to be game-free for a few days or even have to re-install the system.
So, is there an official guide on how to downgrade the Nvidia drivers on SolydK?

Steam - libGL.so.1 error on Nvidia drivers

Hello, I'm using SolydK and I've recently tried to downgrade my proprietary Nvidia drivers to the 331.67-1. Basically I did a "sudo apt-get remove --purge nvidia*" and then installed nvidia-driver and its dependencies with apt-get install while specifying the version. However, this didn't work. When...

Re: Can't start NetworkManager

I tried it without the consider recommended packages as dependencies setting, but it was the same. Anyway, I found a way to get it to work: I removed all the connections from /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections. After a restart, NetworkManager was working. It seems if I set a DSL connection it cr...

Re: Can't start NetworkManager

I've tried the "sudo apt-get install network-manager-gnome", but it wants to pull in 111 packages (most of the Gnome desktop, I guess). Is it that important? I'd prefer not to install over 100 new packages I probably won't use. Also, as far as I understand it's just another front-end that uses the N...

Re: Can't start NetworkManager

Here's the output for the first two commands. I'm not running systemd. I can't find any "nm-applet" command on my system. masterf@masterf-pc ~ $ inxi -Fxz System: Host: masterf-pc Kernel: 3.14-1-amd64 x86_64 (64 bit, gcc: 4.8.3) Desktop: KDE 4.12.4 (Qt 4.8.6) Distro: SolydXK 1 testing Machine: Mobo:...

Can't start NetworkManager

Hello, I'm on SolydK and I've recently started having trouble with NetworkManager. It simply won't start. The networking widget in the tray displays "NetworkManager not running". This started occuring after I've added a DSL connection through the GUI. As you can see below, I've tried to manually sta...
