Re: Can't log-in to SolydX-64 HE after update!

Success, resizing the root partition to 30GB worked :)

Now I'm checking the /tmp and it is only 409 bytes, the /var/cache is 3.2 GB, and the /var/cache/apt is 3.0 GB, is that normal?

Re: Can't log-in to SolydX-64 HE after update!

Schoelje : I can't log-in to SolydX, so I can't use the Update Manager. I used 10GB for the root partition because that was what people said I should use, and in the SolydXK tutorial on the site, if I remember correctly you gave the root partition 7 or 8 GB so I thought 10 was good, I could have mad...

Re: Can't log-in to SolydX-64 HE after update!

Regardless check your /tmp and everything else. It's possible a runaway program or bug has erroneously filled your drive with logs or temp files and not cleaned up. 10gb is relatively small for a root partition these days. So I check the root partition using Gparted in the live usb and it's 9.96GiB...

That is imposable, the root partition has 10GB total and I just install Keepass and one video game 0 A.D, every thing else is default that comes with SolydX.

How to install Tox (chat and voip program)?

Now that I moved to linux I'm looking to replace skype and people are recommending Tox: https://tox.im/ But it's not on the Software manager, why? I never installed any thing outside the Software manager, so how do I install it? On this page you can download Binaries , I got the utox_linux_amd64.tar...

Re: [Talk] Home Edition security updates

So a lot of people were talking about the bash bug, it looked bad so i tried to update using the update manager but it didn’t open for some reason, so I did: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade and got this: Setting up bash (4.3-9.1) ... Re: How to install open source drivers for a graphic tablet?

So I looked at the documentation on how to add my tablet manually to the driver and I found a problem. First I run the command lsusb to get my tablet's OEM Vendor ID and Product ID ID 172f:0500 Waltop International Corp. Media Tablet 14.1" Vendor ID: 172f Model ID: 0500 Next, tablets are often re-br...

Re: How to install open source drivers for a graphic tablet?

Ok, by "worked" I assume that when you try to put the pen to the tablet, nothing happens, right? Yes. When I put the pen on the tablet nothing happens and the LED on the tablet blinks, that happens when the tablet can't find the pen (it is out of range), in windows that happens before you install t...

Re: How to install open source drivers for a graphic tablet?

Do this in a terminal and report back what you get: Debian 3.14.13-2 (2014-07-24) x86_64 GNU/Linux This is a new install with the SolydX-64bit 201407 iso that I made a few days ago, and every thing in the Update Manager is updated. I tried a live SolydK64 and it didn't worked. My tablet in SolydX a...

Re: How to install open source drivers for a graphic tablet?

When was this put in by default? My first install was Solydx-64bit 201407, so I don't know for how long, do you have evdev install? It won't work out of the box. That is what the page says. These tablets should be fully supported and work out of the box Here is the list see if your tablet is in it....

Re: How to install open source drivers for a graphic tablet?

After doing more research I found why the wizardpen package is old. It was replaced by evdev that is sent upstream so all distros with a new kernel will have graphic tablet support out of the box. My tablet is listed in the supported list for kernels newer than 2.6 and evdev newer than 2.5.99 and lo...

Re: How to install open source drivers for a graphic tablet?

It should be a major issue, but it would be nice to know if you are running a 32-bit or 64-bit install. I'm running Solydx-64bit 201407. I might have to build krita from source too, the version in the software manager is old (2.7) the new is 2.8.3, here is a general guide on how to do it , is there...

The theme of the mouse will change depending where you mouse over, and it happen in 2 new installs I did of Solydx-64bit 201407 and yes I check the md5 off the iso. Re: How to install open source drivers for a graphic tablet?

I'm new to linux, I don't know how to build from source. there's a bug report that says one way to get it to work with kernel 3.x is to re-compile from source. On that bug report the guide says: So I thought that if i recompile the module the problem should be solved. And that was it!. The steps to ...
