Re: Solydxk-system hangs indefinitely on the orange splash screen

We cannot use ejectable because that would exclude external usb drives. Some pen drives return that the media is not ejectable but most return that the media is ejectable, even though it is not. In /usr/lib/solydxk/system/udisks2.py you can find this code block: sort_key = drive.get_cached_property(...

Re: Solydxk-system hangs indefinitely on the orange splash screen

There's a new version in testing. I have moved around the code that temporary mounts the drives if not mounted. This should prevent the pen drive from being mounted at application startup. It is hard (or perhaps impossible) to detect a flash usb drive. With "udisksctl dump" I can check which propert...

Re: Solydxk-system hangs indefinitely on the orange splash screen

I had a little time to take a look at solydxk-system: Temporary mounts are mounted read only. In the Fstab tab pen drives are not listed but USB external drives are (the distinction between the is complicated. So, that needs testing by the community). Re: Solydxk-system hangs indefinitely on the orange splash screen

I will take a look at that but that can take a few weeks. Perhaps somewhere in May.

Re: Solydxk-system hangs indefinitely on the orange splash screen

SolydXK System should only temporary mount a device if it finds one that hasn't already been mounted (either manually or fstab). It needs to do that to get the size, available size and used size of a partition, used in the fstab mount tab. It did mount, but things went wrong when it needed to unmoun...

Re: Solydxk-system hangs indefinitely on the orange splash screen

I've tried to let it hang repeatedly, but without any luck. The code numbers you are mentioning is all the code to get all the necessary information from the system and that's a lot. Could you try starting it with the python debugger ? sudo python3 -m pdb /usr/lib/solydxk/system/main.py -n In the de...

Re: Solydxk-system hangs indefinitely on the orange splash screen

Does the terminal output change if you run solydxk-system with the nosplash parameter?

Code: Select all

solydxk-system --nosplash
or

Code: Select all

solydxk-system -n

Re: Community ISO maintenance and build issues - 2

As long as you have this line in your sources.list, you're fine:

Code: Select all

deb https://repository.solydxk.com testing main upstream import
Don't forget to apt update first.

Re: Community ISO maintenance and build issues - 2

I've imported synaptic from sid into the solydxk-10 repository.
Let me know if that works out for you.

Re: Community ISO maintenance and build issues - 2

Synaptic is in sid: https://packages.debian.org/sid/synaptic
Do you think it will get passed to buster?

If not, I could always import it into our own repository.

I see. SolydXK Constructor removes the package while building, not while upgrading...pity.

Re: Update error

Yes, I think grizzler is right.

You could try to boot a live ISO and check the root partition with GParted.

Re: Community ISO maintenance and build issues - 2

I just updated my own SolydX 10 ISO and it didn't remove synaptic. What am I doing differently? apt search synaptic wayland | grep ^i i libva-wayland2 - Video Acceleration (VA) API for Linux -- Wayland runtime i libwayland-client0 - wayland compositor infrastructure - client library i libwayland-cli...

NordVPN Indicator

I've been using NordVPN for a while now but on Linux it wasn't always easy to select the fastest server. Fortunately, NordVPN created the NordVPN for Linux application . Yes, it is closed source and I asked them to reconsider. They answered but, as I expected, they are not going to release it under ...

Re: Python 3.6 on SolydXK

That's a challenge and this is what I did: Add the following line to /etc/apt/sources.list: deb http://deb.debian.org/debian testing main Install python3.6 from testing: apt update apt install -t testing python3.6 This will make a hybrid out of your system. Don't do it! Reverse the changes in source...

If , for whatever reason, you think we owe you a response then this is not the place for you. Now that you meet another forum user, who gives you a polite response, with sarcasm an...
