Re: USB Creator

I have simplified the process because some features caused a lot of problems: formatting and repair. I leave that to the software better suited for the task.

Re: USB Creator

I have built the usb-creator script from the ground up. Unfortunately I have trouble to get some ISOs to boot and it might be the grub.cfg file. As long as there is a loopback.cfg in the ISO, there is no problem. The problem is that distibutions tend to have different names for the same thing (vmlin...

Re: SolydX packages

Sorry, no list saved, I just created a for loop with all packages so that each package could be checked one-by-one.

Re: SolydX packages

I had some totally unrelated Grub issues (copy paste without using brains  ), but you can finally download the spring cleaned ISOs here: https://downloads.solydxk.com/nightly/

Re: Solydxk restarts without loading from grub

These are not commands but log files.

You need to search them for errors but now that you solved your issue by reinstalling the system that is not necessary anymore.

Re: SolydX packages

I had to leave some of those libs, especially the qt4 libs. On SolydK that would not only remove the Live Installer, but also kde-runtime and I think we need that ;)

I'm building the ISOs now and I'll upload them if they are bootable. I'll let you know when I'm done.

Re: SolydX packages

After all that cleaning it did not matter for the ISOs: more or less the same size.
I didn't test them yet, perhaps later today.

Re: SolydX packages

That must have been a lot of work! 8-)

And the linux-headers?

mc is part of EE, not the official ISOs. :D

Re: Firefox/waterfox and DoH - what default to choose?

Ok, clear.

Do you want me to install dnssec-trigger by default, then?

Re: Firefox/waterfox and DoH - what default to choose?

Is there something I need to change in the configuration?

Re: Solydxk restarts without loading from grub

Did you reuse the user's home directory?
I had that with corrupt configuration files and found out that I didn't have that problem with a newly created user.

Also check these for errors:
/var/log/syslog
/var/log/Xorg.0.log
~/.xsession-errors

May image install. A skel file is also missing.
We never needed one. I don't have much time to figure out how to configure that. So, if somebody has the time to check that out, I'd very much appreciate that.

Re: SolydXK 10 Preview and Testing

I just installed on an older computer, non EFI. Both HDDs were empty to start with. Boot stick was created with USB creator - as usual install on the stick hang and I had to do a repair run on the stick. Bootup went without problem (after convincing the mainboard to see the stick). I'm working on t...

Re: SolydXK 10 Preview and Testing

@tek10
For the time being, I've uploaded mugshot from sid to our repostory. I haven't tested it, though.

Code: Select all

apt update; apt install mugshot --no-install-recommends
@troypulk
Is the updater not functioning without?

On another note: Could you post your packaging workflow? At least in the maintainers section?
I will, as soon as I've done all packages. Hopefully before we release the new ISOs but certainly after the summer holidays.

Upstream in /opt

The upstram packages for Adobe Flash and Firefox are now installed in /opt. Now, that I'm packaging according to Debian policy, lintian bugs me with the message that installing in /opt is discouraged. If we were to move those directories, where would be best? I see that the latest build of FF is in ...

Re: apt: command not found (!..)

First, you need to address these errors: Target Packages (main/binary-amd64/Packages) is configured multiple times in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-earth-pro.list:3 and /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google-earth.list:1 It seems you have the same lines configured in this list. sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.l...

Re: apt: command not found (!..)

@EliaSXK91 Site admin is not gone, site admin needs time with his family once in a while. @ilu apt sync is a command you could use provided solydxk-system has been installed correctly and that is part of the problem with this system. Back to his problem. This is what I did: First update the apt cach...
