Re: Search engine alternatives to startpage

Lacking transparency is often a way to slowly and silently change policies. Their statement does not reassure me. So, for the past couple of days I have been using MetaGer and it is not all that bad. For the technical searches I often have to revert to Google but I had to do the same when using Star...

Re: Thunar: recent folders and folder content (#items)

Sorry I cannot help you with your question, but I had to replace your attachments of your last post because it was giving errors on the RSS feed. It is a known phpBB bug and to solve it I'll have to upgrade phpBB which is not an easy thing to do.

Re: Old distrib info in /etc & lsb_release

Looks good to me. I'm not developing on the old adjustments-8 packages anymore and I don't remember if this bug was addressed in the new packages. However, it should only occur when removing the package, not when you install it. You found a workaround for that. So, you can try to continue to install...

Re: Can't update

In /etc/sources.list you need to replace "repository.solydxk.nl" with "repository.solydxk.com"
Then run

Code: Select all

apt update
apt dist-upgrade

Re: Breakage and News Tracker for Debian Testing [Bullseye]

sshfs is a dependency of kdeconnect.
I could reinstall those packages without a problem.

Re: Breakage and News Tracker for Debian Testing [Bullseye]

For reference, with fuse these packages are also removed:

Code: Select all

sshfs
ntfs-3g
ifuse
gvfs-fuse
exfat-fuse

Re: Old distrib info in /etc & lsb_release

Here's a user who had a similar problem with solydk-system-adjustments-8.
You only need to replace solydk with solydx:

Re: Waterfox

That would complicate building the waterfox versions. That is too much time and effort that I am not willing to invest unless we ever decide that waterfox needs to replace firefox.

Re: Waterfox

I don't know much about packaging so no idea - but maybe we should just not purge the dummy? And if we do, we just need to reinstall. I tested what would happen if a user would remove the waterfox dummy package. The waterfox dummy package is not automatically removed. As long as waterfox-classic is...

Re: Waterfox

I think it is done but unfortunately, if you purge the dummy package waterfox: solydxk@solydxk:~$ apt purge waterfox Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done The following package was automatically installed and is no longer required: waterfox-classic ...

Re: Ancestris Genealogy program

I temporarily added this line to /etc/apt/sources.list:

Code: Select all

deb http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch main
I ran these commands successfully on SolydX 10:

Code: Select all

apt update
apt install openjdk-8-jre

If you really want that, you can extract them from the source (.xz) files from the adjustments packages:

Re: Waterfox

It was more work than anticipated but I've managed to create two packages for Waterfox in testing: waterfox (the current version) waterfox-classic (the classic version) I've decided to follow the Firefox naming: firefox and firefox-esr. This to prevent any misunderstanding. Unfortunately, this means...

Re: (solved) solydxk-system-settings cleanup

deborphan handles orphaned packages. So, "command" should be a package name.
