Re: SolydXK 10 Testing [updated: 31-07-2019]

According to uname -a, kernel is 4.19.0-5, yet /boot shows 4.19.0-6 is installed as well. So why was -5 the default menu choice? Why two kernels anyway? Fixed in new ISOs. Installing (using terminal, just in case...). First two lines: /etc/live-installer-3/live-installer-3.conf: line 6: --assume-ye...

Re: SolydXK 10 Testing [updated: 31-07-2019]

Looking at /usr/share/doc/lsb-release/README.Debian, I wonder why 'our' /usr/lib/os-release doesn't have VERSION or VERSION_ID. Because it is provided by base-files and I do not check files provided by packages that I do not maintain myself until somebody asks me to fix something because it is brok...

Re: Gnome-keyring problems (with chromium) [partly solved]

I have added XFCE to /etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-keyring-pkcs11 and built a new SolydX-10 ISO. That didn't change anything in the live session but to my surprise it worked after installing! Screenshot_20190919_144722.png I could lock and unlock with my own password. I haven't tested with Chromium, yet.

Do you know of a distribution that has a properly working gnome-keyring?

Re: Need a help

First uninstall firefox-solydxk-adjustments and then firefox.
So, not at the same time or firefox first.

Re: Gnome-keyring problems (with chromium) [partly solved]

That would be a complicated solution for something that simple. It would also confuse the user. I'd like to investigate the other distros but unfortunately my PC broke down today and I am low on cash to buy a new one. I'm now posting this with my mobile. All changes, including the ISOs will have to ...

Re: Gnome-keyring problems (with chromium) [partly solved]

A ~/.config/autostart/create-keyring.desktop file should do it: [Desktop Entry] Exec=sh -c "echo \"NEW_USER_PWD\" | gnome-keyring-daemon --unlock; rm /etc/xdg/autostart/create-keyring.desktop" StartupNotify=false Terminal=false Type=Application Name=Create Login Keyring There are some problems, howe...

Re: Gnome-keyring problems (with chromium) [partly solved]

@Arjen do you think that command could be incorporated in the installer? That would at least leave new installed system with a - in most cases - working keyring config (except in those cases where it is randomly not working ...). I'm afraid not. The installer runs as root and gnome-keyring-daemon n...

Re: Lightdm does not show new users

I have only these enabled in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf:

Code: Select all

[SeatDefaults]
greeter-hide-users=false
allow-user-switching=true
session-wrapper=/etc/lightdm/Xsession
You have the first two also, but you're missing the session-wrapper.
Maybe that helps.

Re: How to add user ?

That's because root hasn't got /sbin or /usr/sbin in the PATH variable.
Use "su -" instead of "su" if you don't want to use sudo.
Or add "export PATH=$PATH:/sbin:/usr/sbin" to /root/.bashrc

My cable ISP's modem quit on me a five days ago. They will send a new one but until then I cannot do anything at all.

Re: SolydXK 10 Testing [updated: 31-07-2019]

This weekend I have some time. So, now that there are not much to do anymore I plan to release the ISOs.
Agreed?

Re: I get no more updates

Nothing wrong there.

Please run these commands in terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
and post back any errors.

Re: Blocked updates?

I think, in your case, it's backports causing these problems and makes it very difficult to solve your issue.

Re: Blocked updates?

Have you tried to just purge gnupg-agent in terminal?

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get purge gnupg-agent
Note: gnupg-agent is a transitional package for gpg-agent.

Re: Blocked updates?

Please, run these in terminal (as you found out, a GUI won't help you here): sudo dpkg --configure -a sudo apt-get install -f sudo apt-get upgrade The first two will hopefully fix what is broken. The last one will upgrade your system and when it fails, you need to copy the output in your post so tha...

You should execute the last command or else we won't see what exactly goes wrong.
