Re: New SolydXK ISOs released!

Just upgrade as you usually do and you're good to go.
Currently only Meltdown is fixed in Stretch (don't know about Buster). The other patches will follow as soon as they are made available for Stretch.

Re: Some clues about CPU vulnerabilities? Spectre and meltdown

I've also run this script: https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/check-linux-server-for-spectre-meltdown-vulnerability/ My current output: Checking for vulnerabilities against running kernel Linux 4.9.0-5-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.65-3+deb9u2 (2018-01-04) x86_64 CPU is Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4785T CPU @ 2.20GHz...

Re: Some clues about CPU vulnerabilities? Spectre and meltdown

Just thought to share this with you. I tweeted Asus to ask whether or not there's going to be a BIOS update to address the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities. This was the first reply: I think no BIOS update can mitigate this issues. Linux kernels have been updated with KPTI and Retpoline which is...

New SolydXK ISOs released!

It is time again to release the new SolydXK ISOs! All SolydXK ISOs are fully updated, including the latest kernel release with the Meltodown vulnarability patch. The ISOs come with a system configuration tool called SolydXK System Settings. Following is a list of features added since the 201707 rel...

Re: solydxk-constructor removes installed package

It is by design to remove any packages that are not in the repositories (safety first!). However, you can override this behavior by editing the following file: sudo nano /usr/lib/solydxk/constructor/files/cleanup.sh and add the package name to the "NotOrphan" variable. Separate names by a ...

Re: Please, help translating!

If it's not included because of the 80% rule it will choose pt. If that is not available, it will default to the default language of the application. In our case it's en_US for all SolydXK applications.

Re: Please, help translating!

I've configured the build process of packages thus that only translations that are +80% completed are included. In Transifex's " All Projects " list you can see that a majority of languages are not included into the packages due to this rule. All these languages were once requested and aba...

Re: Testing ISOs 201712

Thank you for reporting this. I haven't been able to reproduce this issue but I'll take a look at it later. In the mean time, could you tell me if the system was localized and if so, to which language? Could you post back the output of: sudo hwinfo --framebuffer and sudo hwinfo --framebuffer | awk '...

Re: Accounting and Invoice software - Akaunting

In regards to your comments about server based applications. How hard would it be for an individual to maintain a single localhost edition of an accounting software? I've tried to setup a couple but haven't gotten them to work. Is that typical or just a steep learning curve for me. I'm just wonderi...

This list with Open Source Accounting Software might be of interest for US users: https://financesonline.com/best-free-accounting-software-solutions-consider-2017/ I've also been looking for accounting software (including invoicing, quotations and reminders) tailored for the European market but I on...

Re: Accounting and Invoice software - Akaunting

This is an interesting discussion. Unfortunately I don't know anything about accounting. When I had my own (one-man) company I simply never had the time to learn about those things and I was lucky that a friend and accountant of mine was willing to do that for me. I also have to admit that numbers w...

Re: [SOLVED] 31 packages not upgraded?

I see you have the priority of Debian's repository set to 1000. That's really high. I have no /etc/apt/preferences file and no files in /etc/apt/preferences.d and my output is this: arjen@solydxk_main:~$ apt policy libreoffice libreoffice: Installed: 1:5.2.7-1 Candidate: 1:5.2.7-1 Version table: 1:5...
