Re: Widgets and Keyboard Shortcuts

I hardly ever use right alt for anything, and if meta is being used to show the desktop or open the launcher, it's fine with me if that happens in addition to whatever app I'm opening with it. What should happen in an ideal situation is that meta or alt would do its single-key command once it was re...

Re: Widgets and Keyboard Shortcuts

I tried editing that configuration file, but it's hard to understand what each part does, and the shortcut I want to modify (the in-widget keyboard shortcut for kickoff) doesn't even seem to appear in the file at all. I also tried the kickoffrc file next door, but didn't get anywhere there either. W...

Widgets and Keyboard Shortcuts

When I started using SolydK, the meta/super/windows/whatever key on my keyboard was set to open the launcher menu when pressed, and right-clicking on the launcher menu and bringing up the keyboard shortcut tab of the 'launcher settings' dialog showed that the shortcut was set to "F13". This was fine...

Re: Windows constantly lose focus at random

As far as I can tell, it's the alt-f2 run prompt that's doing it. My fix kept focus from getting lost all the time, but I also noticed that it's been impossible to type in the alt-f2 prompt ever since I implemented it. This is only a minor annoyance (I can just use Yakuake for most things with the s...

Re: Strange issues with audio formats

Ah, thank you!
Yes, I was looking to the occasional Ubuntu forum, but even the Debian forums claimed that 'sudo apt-get install ffmpeg' was going to work on the first try. I'm glad I came here!

Strange issues with audio formats

I've two strange issues, which I seem to remember being connected from back when I was using Ubuntu. Unfortunately, my solution from last time doesn't work anymore. The first one is that I really would like to be able to convert audio/video files (namely MP4s) into the MP3 format, but absolutely non...

Re: Windows constantly lose focus at random

Sorry for not posting in so long!
I did find a solution to the problem, though- I went into the Window Rules settings and added a rule preventing anything that's a toolbar or panel from accepting focus. It's worked well. I guess the toolbars were getting focus at random times for some reason?

Re: Windows constantly lose focus at random

I found a suggestion on a different forum to delete Thunderbird, which was apparently creating a background notification spam that was grabbing focus for some reason. Doing this fixed the problem temporarily, but now, one reboot later, it's back (with slightly lower frequency) and Thunderbird's stil...

Windows constantly lose focus at random

I just installed SolydK on my HP Envy touchscreen laptop (moving away from Kubuntu due to stability issues) and so far it's worked great, but for one rather annoying issue: no window can seem to hold focus for more than about 30 seconds, usually less. It's completely random as far as I can tell, but...
