Re: Weather on the panel not working

Yup, mine's been broken on SolydX for something like two weeks. Loading up the weather page in browser is such heavy lifting I think I tore a labrum.

Re: Has anyone got USB Speakers to work?

Is this relevant to my problem? I don't really know what he means.. I mean I have to put the appropriate entries for my sound cards, right? Re: [solved] usb speaker not working on squeeze 6.01 Postby wuming » 2011-06-20 11:37 solved. solution was: cat /proc/asound/cards, showed [1] as the speaker, t...

Re: Has anyone got USB Speakers to work?

^ Okay, that didn't seem to work. The two options were HDMI and Analog, no USB DAC.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Re: Has anyone got USB Speakers to work?

It looks like it detected:

Code: Select all

Bus 005 Device 003: ID 08bb:2704 Texas Instruments Audio Codec
Toggling some options in pavucontrol doesn'tt seem to do anything though...

Has anyone got USB Speakers to work?

I got myself some Kanto YU2 speakers for the new year, they have the old type 3.5mm input but I would like to be able to use the onboard DAC with the USB connection. Has someone gotten USB speakers working? I tried rebooting, which made made USB DAC selectable from the 'audio mixer' but there was no...

Re: CPU cores disabled sometimes

Thank you for clearing up whether or not my machine was now on EE or not! :) I actually neglected to mention that my machine is mildly overclocked. At stock this thing is 3.5-4.1 GHz, I run it at 4.1 all the time with Turbo disabled, Cool & Quiet enabled (voltage and freq varies). I suppose OCing co...

CPU cores disabled sometimes

I'm running an AMD FX-6300 on a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 and sometimes my CPU turns to mush. I can still do basic computing but my panel widget shows only 1 core active. When 'stress' is run with '--cpu 6' only one core runs, and some tasks are noticably slower. Rebooting fixes things but it's annoying t...

[SOLVED] My update feed shows errors

I seem to have partially at least removed 'launchpad.net' ppa but my feed still shows errors. Somebody please help :?

I sucessfully did:

Code: Select all

sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:launchpad/ppa
but this did nothing:

Code: Select all

sudo add-apt-repository --remove ppa:smplayer/ppa

Re: System shutdown and quick reboot - all workspaces untouc

I am still very puzzled by what happened. I hear that Windows 10 has a "pseudo-hibernation" feature that makes boot time lower, maybe something like that is happening.

System shutdown and quick reboot - all workspaces untouched!

I was having trouble with the Update Manager, (as sometimes happens) it wouldn't show up when I double clicked the panel icon. The workspace switcher would show a window open, even though the screen was blank. I went to close the supposedly open window using my keyboard shortcut for 'close window'. ...

Re: Audio EQ (for youtube and VLC)

Zil, that method of setting the VLC EQ numbers has never worked for me :(

Wow, Kurotsugi this seems like a neat trick! My system needed a reboot to get it working but I think it's doing something now, thank you!

Audio EQ (for youtube and VLC)

My S715i Logitec speakers seem to have a default equalizer setting of 'boomy' which makes listening to them tiring. I have been in the habit of going into VLC's equalizer every time I open a long podcast and lowering the bass manually. VLC will not save the EQ settings. It occured to me that there m...

Re: Freefilesync used to be in Synaptic

I haven't tried it, but have you looked at Unison ? It is packaged for Debian and in the repos. It matches up feature-wise with Freefilesync Comparison of File Sync Software . Freefilesync has an ITP (Intent to Package) entry, but there has been no activity for quite some time. I hope Debian does a...

Re: Freefilesync used to be in Synaptic

True enough, LB did warn that it had run out of space. The issue is that it didn't execute the 'delete files' before it went ahead and started writing files and plowed into running out of space. I, as a human, was smart enough to figure out the mess. I'm not sure that FFS would have done the same th...

Freefilesync used to be in Synaptic

I used to be a fan of Freefilesync for backing up my data but I noticed one day that it had disappeared from my roster of programs. It's no longer to be found in Synaptic. I found a url where I can download it from but I'm curious why it would be removed so suddenly. The interface was right on. A De...

Re: Japanese Language (Anthy) in Libre Office

Schoelje, After installing those packages my Anthy seems to work. TBH I'm not sure if I'm just on the lucky end of my problem or if the packages fixed something. fcitx was usable for me on Manjaro except I don't know how to activate it here. Going into fcitx settings I am unable to add an input meth...
