Oops. I neglected to mention: I also created a new initramfs with the correct root declaration.

Re: Grub is installed and updated, but doesn't start the system

@ilu: Unless I'm not parsing /usr/bin/bootinfoscript (as delivered in Solydk 9) correctly (A DISTINCT possibility), that script doesn't show the contents of /etc/default/grub. It WILL show the contents of grub.cfg (wherever it's located), which will almost certainly help in determining why grub won'...

Re: Grub is installed and updated, but doesn't start the system

Sorry 'bout the late response. I tried responding a few days ago, but got interrupted and the session had timed out before I got back. Re: [SOLVED] Network-manager 1.6.2-3+deb9u2 suddenly quit working

I wasn't expecting you (or anyone else) to do anything about it.

Re: [SOLVED] Network-manager 1.6.2-3+deb9u2 suddenly quit working

It appears that if you have Network-Manager configured to automatically initiate an openVPN connection when a physical connection is established (which I did) AND the openVPN can't be established, THEN Network-Manager will tear down the connection on the underlying physical interface, as well. I had...

Re: Swap partion

Swap usage also varies depending upon how heavily loaded the system is. If you try to simultaneously edit a bunch of 48 Mpixel images, some 8K video and manipulate a large in-memory database, you'll probably find that some of your application will stall or (very unlikely) that you system will crash ...
