Hi Philip!

You have to install the package "ffmpegthumbs". Then Dolphin offers you thumbnails.

Re: Guide to installing for beginners?

Installing SolydXK or another modern linux distribution is quite easy and selfexplaining. To get some practice I recommend to install SolydXK on your existing Ubuntu in a virtual machine like virtualbox. Virtualbox is installable from the Ubuntu package sources. If You have any questions, feel free ...

Firefox with Plasma-Integration

Hi Arjen! As I mentioned elswhere off topic (sorry), I would appreciate Firefox-Plasma-Integration. Something like Plasmazilla which is available for Open Suse and Kubuntu. It is not yet available for Debian stable. But it would definitly improve the usability for Plasma-users. And it would fit the ...

You can also use the SolydXK System Settings application. Repositories tab and enable the backports repository.
And how do I install from backports then? With apt install -t stretch-backports? Any other way?

If you are a little skilled with your pc, maybe this will help you:

Remember: SolidXK 9 is fully compatible to Debian 9 (stretch) :-)

Hi!

What do you mean by "Bible application"? Xiphos? BibleTime? Which Solyd version are you using? X? K?

Re: LibreOffice Calc number of results

Install the packet "snapd" and dependencies. You can do that with a packetmanager or by typing in a terminal "sudo apt install snapd". Then in a terminal type: "sudo snap install libreoffice". You will find the icons then in the menu (office) after restarting Xfce. You can use both libreoffice-versi...

Re: LibreOffice Calc number of results

Yes. It seems to depend on the version of LibreOffice. I confirm, that with 6.1.1.2 it shows a sum below.
So, I recommend to install LibreOffice 6 via snap in SolydXK 9.

Re: LibreOffice Calc number of results

Well I just did, what you described on my desktop-system with SolydK. The results showed of in a textbox. The same done on my notebook with SolydX. The results showed of in a textbox. I would check my LibreOffice settings. If nothing helps, delete the LibreOffice folder in .config in your home folde...

Support SolydXK

Yesterday I installed SolydX on the old Asus notebook the familiy uses sometimes. Again, I am enthusiastic about SolydXK.
Now I wonder how I could support SolydXK in any way?

SolydK system of choice

Again I want to express my joy about how desktop-friendly a Debian-stable-system can be through SolidK. Yesterday I made it my main and productivity system. So, now I am depending on you, guys ;-)
But it feels good.
Thank you again!

Re: [SOLVED] Fontsmoothing wine does not work

Meanwhile I discovered, that no modification is necessary at all. Just change fontsmoothing settings in Plasma systemsettings once to take effect on wine.
I hope, this hint will save you some time of experimenting :-)

little joy

I just installed spotify on SolidK. I am used to install a missing library on Debian 9 usually. No complaint about this in SolidK. Just a littel joy. :-)

I like SolydK more and more. Really a good job you did, folks!
