Re: Forum Standards Relating to Enquiries.

The "standard" is that you describe your technical problem as short as possible, including terminal output when needed and most importantly with non-English speakers in mind. See the " Forum Rules, Guidelines, and Policy " for further details. Crikey, am I glad complying with these criteria but am ...

Re: Forum Standards Relating to Enquiries.

Hi FuzzyJ or should I say Kayman? Feel free to use either, Sherlock. For heaven's sake, it's a frickin' nickname. How about Fuzzy J Kayman... Who cares and what is your point anyway? I read this post and then looked at your outstanding post regarding the KDE notifications (or lack of them), No, you...

Re: Networks panel - available Wi-Fi connections etc.

My thanks for explanatory responses. Sounds like code: 'lspci' would be a worthy inclusion to the directive "Questions about networking." I already tried Netrunner, PC LinuxOS and Q4OS; The Wi-Fi card is working as expected. Since your analysis also indicates a probable glitch in SolydK I am going t...

Re: Networks panel - available Wi-Fi connections etc.

Thanks for responding. My last operating system installed to this desktop computer was Netrunner 19.01. Prior to Netrunner I had Mint KDE and and then Neon installed. All three systems displayed available Wi-Fi connections in the Networks dialog panel and also was able using my USB broadband aircard...

Forum Standards Relating to Enquiries.

I recognize that this forum is comparatively anything but action-packed. The esteemed few & far between resident experts may be very busy with more 'important' issues than responding to perceived non-crucial (daft) questions. I don't apologies for being old school and that my values & expectations c...

Re: March's configuration changes

Thank you, for the comforting words. The KSysGuard is included in my 'Automatically Started Applications' and is displayed on my monitor at all times. I merely reported my observations which definitely changed the CPU readings after applying the updates. My apologies if I gave the impression that th...

Re: Empty Notifications Panel

We may talk about a different scenario here; I am not very technical, so please bear with me. Before moving to SolydK, I used Mint KDE, Maui, Neon and until recently Netrunner 19.01. Mint KDE and Maui will/is become obsolete and Neon is too 'cutting edge'. Although very well supported, Netrunner is ...

Re: Keeping the operating system updated.

Thanks for responses.
If one isn't frequenting this forum regularly, how would one become aware of changes implemented by the maintainer of the operating system such as the "March's configuration changes" or other changes not covered by the Update Manager?

apt-transport-https was missing the trailing 's'. I've updated the OP, the rest is still valid.
Thank you, I'll be guided accordingly.

Keeping the operating system updated.

Aside from applying updates to the operating system as prompted by Discover Update Manager are there any other links to follow for keeping SolydK up-to-date?
And are there any recommendations on items to pay attention in SolyXK System Settings?

Networks panel - available Wi-Fi connections etc. [SOLVED]

Because of existing undependable power supplies I frequently need an option to access my desktop computer to a Wi-Fi connection or connect with a (plugin & play) USB aircard (dongle) to mobile broadband. The Networks panel only shows Active Wired connection but no available Wi-Fi connections. The ra...

Re: March's configuration changes

This configuration issue is a little out of my depth... The recent SolydXK update of Firefox ESR is version 60.6.0. (solyxk - 1.0). Just opening <https://forums.solydxk.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7491> the observed CPU History is indicating erratic changes ranging from 0% up to 54% and the Memory and S...
