Re: The future of SolydXK

Hi, sorry for my english, the french forum is very still... I've already tried LTS distros (long term support) in the past. The big problem for me was that over the years ,the desktop (kde, xfce, gnome) etc becomes outdated (oldfashioned). So, new software through backports ok, but if the Desktop w...

Re: User management doesn't work

Hmmm, and why exactly userconfig KCModule doesn't work?
I prefer KCModules more than stand alone applications for system settings.

Re: The new SolydXK - Q+A

Solyd is something what built from LMDE + KDE, so now it is Debian with KDE. In other words, what is the main difference between Debian + KDE from Debian repos and SolydK ?? You never tried Debian itself, don't you? Debian offers the defaults for any desktop. They are usually very unpolis...

Re: The new SolydXK - Q+A

Hmm, so for us who look for stability and latest stable KDE (SolydK distribution) there is no happy solution? Because KDE will be obsolete in stable Debian after year or two, KDE isn't backported and only solution for people who want new KDE version is EE spin? A little strange, because one of the m...

Re: kdenext going to be dropped

Hello, I must to say something about SolydK and KDE and my opinion about KDE version sticked with Debian testing. First of all, I love SolydK because of Debian testing machine and near to cutting-edge KDE ! I think this is the main power of SolydK and my main reason to using them! :) (In other case ...

Re: [Proposal] KDE plasmoids: RedShift & FastUserSwitch

Ok, I will contact Debian maintainer of this package and tell him about new and patched versions.

You told that redshift widget must be build in SolydXK. So, who can build them and put in repository?

Do you want include them into main repo of Solyd? Can (must) I do something before that?

This isn't Skanlite issue. This is issue of SANE backend. Skanlite is only a frontend of SANE ;)

Re: Further plans of SolydXK

I like your enthusiasm regarding SolydX Server, but let's wait with that when the time comes. It's a completely different topic. Right decision from my point of view. ;) SolydXK must be pointed to ordinary users in desktop domain. Especially if LMDE will be abandoned. My suggestion will be trying t...

[Skype] PulseAudio problems

I've just installed new Skype via Solyd's repo (v.4.1.0.20) and I notice that sound don't came out through PulseAudio subsystem. When I switch on sound card, to avoid PA, than all is good.

I do not know what is the reason, maybe it is the Skype's problem?

Can someone check this?

Re: Further plans of SolydXK

One comment to get started with on this is: Most Linux servers up to this point focus on command line interface. I prefer a GUI of some kind so I hope that is your intention. openSUSE distribution is that one which use GUI as command interface for server services like mail, http, dns and other. All...
