Re: Kademar Version 5

I wonder why so many distros (SolydXK) insist in including Steam installed. Is it that popular in the States? I don't know anyone in Spain having an Steam account. Where I live in the USA Steam is very popular and yes, I have a Steam account. I consider myself being between a casual & hardcore game...

Re: BTRFS VS ZFS

If you're interested in ZFS you may want to give PC-BSD a try in Virtual Box or on a spare computer - http://www.pcbsd.org
It's about as user-friendly as any of the top linux distros out there.

Re: no restart offered on logout

You may want to check out this thread concerning the recent UP and the switch to using systemd, it may not be configured properly - http://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4475

I had the same issue your having after the latest UP, and this fixed it. Hope this works for you.

Re: How to install Tor browser?

I would highly recommend downloading the Tor Browser Bundle - https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en Once downloaded you need to extract the package before running. This will not install it into the system as you will simply be running it from its folder. Inside the folder there is a...

Re: What does Solyd mean, really?

SELinux: I haven't dealt with it for a few years as a home user (Suse back then) so I don't know how it is now, but remember running into a few issues back then. Hard disk encryption: I think would be excellent to have as an option for home user and business alike. TOR: I use the Tor Browser Bundle ...

I have successfully upgraded all of our SolydXK machines now, my desktop(SolydK64), 2 laptops(SolydK64 and K32), and lastly my netbook(SolydX32). All upgraded with no issues so far. I may install it in VirtualBox this weekend if I get time. I haven't tried any of the other versions of Sparky yet, mainly cause I a...

Re: What are the best Radeon drivers?

If you are not planning to play games that require 3D acceleration (like with Steam) then depending on your video card the open source driver should run fine in most cases. If you watch full-screen videos (using the open source driver) being streamed by say Youtube, Dailymotion etc you might notice ...
