RAID or LVM Setup at install (Especially for BO)

I moved back to kubuntu on my home desktop for the time being, because this latest box (had to rebuild due to a dead motherboard and 10 year old hardware) finally let me have drives for a mirrored pair of drives for home. I'd uses the instructions here to move home on the last build up but after set...

Re: LibreOffice changes coming...how will this affect Solyd?

I will say that from my work machine (still on kubuntu) I'm enjoying "Fresh" (4.2.2 quite well) my home machine's issues with kubuntu and solydk are proving to be hardware related. So I'm waiting until I can afford a upgrade before really doing much on it anymore.

Yep.
Also a little troubleshooting down. The hang is after KDE startsup.

BO won't boot in vm

Was going to boot BO in a vm. Gets most of the way through the splash screen and then just hangs.

Looks like Jessie will be systemd by default. So it maybe time for the solyd team to be looking at it.

Re: Point of Sale Software

I messed around with their online demo for a bit. The PoS module seems to be either broken or not available in the demo. I'm looking for a cash register suite for a micro business (you can't really call a 6 man team "small" anymore). I'm trying to get them off quickbooks pos so they don't need two $...

Point of Sale Software

Has anyone looked into P.o.S software for BO (or maybe BE). I was looking at Lemon yesterday for a friend but I'm hoping to find users with good/bad luck to speak up.

Re: New ISO’s for the Home Editions

As someone who does network support for a living. It's all kinds of bad. I DON'T want my network monitoring software which runs automated pings and other tests running at elevated privileges. Nor do I want people who I'm helping troubleshoot their personal machines having to deal with simple testing...

Re: New ISO’s for the Home Editions

Is there a reason ping requires sudo in this ISO and its install? It wasn't that way previously.

Re: HOWTO: Move /home to second HDD

I've followed these instructions on a fresh install. The system doesn't boot. When I escape to see behind Plymouth I find fsck has failed and it wants a maintenance terminal. It's asking for the root password or Control-D to continue. Control-D does nothing and it resets the prompt when you try and...
