some apps have bugs after update

Hi Enjoy SolydK alot. Have issues with Vlc, Gnome-Commander and Krusader. These are not issues with SolydK per se but from upstream. Same issues on the systems like Ubuntu or Siduction or Lmde. On older system like Chrunchbang they all work properly and are all older versions of the same apps. So......

Re: request for full install to btrfs option

Hi , Thanks for the reply. Yes, you can create a root system with a /boot partition included as part of the root btrfs system during install, and it will fully install. But when you reboot grub2 hangs. At least thats my experience with several distros. Will try again , though. Only Opensuse seems to...

request for full install to btrfs option

Hi I would like to use SolydX in Virtualbox using btrfs with the /boot partiton btrs as well as root. As far a s I know Opensuse is the only distro that uses btrfs /boot. It gives a checkbox option to use btrfs during install. Looks like they use a submenu in grub.cfg to specify btrfs. This is beyon...

Re: Confused - Sd, Wheezy, Squeeze, Debian 6, Debian 7 oh my

Thanks again. Getting closer. cat "/etc/os-release.dpkg-dist" gives "Debian GNU/Linux jessie/sid" So SolydX is not: Debian 6 or 7 or 8. It is testing for what will become 8. So when I visit a site such as Riak what should I be looking for as a .deb package? Not Squeeze or Wheezy but Sid? Thanks agai...

Re: Confused - Sd, Wheezy, Squeeze, Debian 6, Debian 7 oh my

Thanks for the reply. So does that mean: Wheezy is curently Debian 7 stable. Solydx is Debian 6 or 7? testing (Sid) Riak offers 2 downloads: Debian 6 (Squeeze) AMD 64 Debian 7 (Wheezy) AMD 64 I gather neither of these is suitable for SolydX ( debian testing ). Thanks my /etc/apt deb http://packages....

Trying to figure out what version of Debian my SolydX (Xfce) is based on.

When I go to download a package I don't know if it should be

Re: SolydX login problem

Thanks for reply. Should have said that I originally had /etc/profile code in .xsessionrc. I was originator of that /etc/profile post. Also bash startup script does not execute properly. Identical code in SolydX laptop and AMD systems work properly. Issue is unique to to this cpu/video computer. Now...

Found another solution.
Simply select kdm login manager from synaptic
and use /etc/profile as usual.
Best wishes

Re: /etc/profile not recognized on login

Thanks kindly for prompt, courteous reply. Workaround from bug report you gave is to use: .xsessionrc instead. in /home/user or /root Thanks again Cant see any way to mark thread closed. /etc/profile not recognized on login [SOLVED]

Hi The /etc/profile file is not being recognized in Solydx Xfce Amd 64 virtualbox environment. It seems to be ignored - works on all other Debian Distros I've used. I use it set export variables for entire session e.g. export MYIP='192.168.0.99. Should I be using a different file in SolydX? Any help...
