Re: The New Face Of KDE

Eh, seems a bit like KDE is trying to conform to what mobile OS devs (and Microsoft's Windows 8 team) deem to be a good looking interface. I don't really want my desktop to remind me of Windows 9x with flat and blocky windows. I like the curved corners on my windows. However, if they could fix a few...

Anyone using Back Office on their desktops?

As the title of the post suggests, I'm wondering how many people use Back Office as their primary desktop and/or laptop operating system. Any reasons for using it in particular? Just curious.

Re: New member but longtime Linux user

I'm a longtime Linux user recently switching to SolydK. Some may remember me from the Mint forums. This is the best KDE Linux I have found.. Welcome to the community! I've been using Linux on and off for the last few years myself. I got kinda tired of all the 'buntu distros out there, and decided t...

Re: Show your Desktop Screenshots

Here's my MATE desktop on SolydX. I removed Xfce almost entirely, leaving only Xfburn and themed it Steampunk. Clementine is my current go-to audio player, but I've used Audacious for years. Perhaps I should go back to it...? Nah! A bit old fashioned. I like it. Reminds me of the Ubuntu 7.04 days.

Re: Show your Desktop Screenshots

Took out the desktop application links and put them up on a new panel at the top of my screen. :) Tried using docky, but it was being problematic. So, figured the KDE panels would be far better.

Re: No eject button?

Is the drive showing up in Dolphin? And you are talking of button? mean on the drive? As can right click drive in dolphin and select eject from there. . The drive shows up in Dolphin and I can eject it from there. But it'd be nice to be able to eject it from the Device Notifier applet like I use to...

No eject button?

Anyone else having an issue with the Device Notifier in KDE not providing an eject button when a drive is mounted? It used to, but now it does not. It just provides a button to mount the drive, even after it has been mounted. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Show your Desktop Screenshots

Fletch, I'll take any help in any way I can. Help.....is always appreciated by me. I'm using XFCE and after I click on "Add the File", I get a pink colored line that says I have to shrink my desktop 1.8 MB file down to 256 KiB. That's the problem since I see no way or know how to shrink the file do...

To users of both Clementine and Android

If you are a user of both Clementine and Android, you may find this interesting. I found recently the Clementine Remote Android app, which can be installed via the Google Play store. The problem, however, for SolydXK users is that the Clementine package in the repos is out of date slightly. Therefor...

Re: KDE slowdown over time with nvida drivers

The thing is that all was fine with the open drivers on Linux Mint 15 (with KDE) and with some earlier solydK. So I thought it was something that could be fixed. Anyway I am used to see problems like that and every time I deside to upgrade to a new distro I usualy try 3/4 distros before I find the ...

Re: KDE slowdown over time with nvida drivers

Sorry have to disagree with Open drivers are crap. As many users like myself run smoothly and glitch free. Running KDE with Ati 4350 dual monitors smooth, snappy and zero issues. This has to be a specific graphics chipset/card issues. Just because they don't run optimal with all video setups doesn't...
