Re: hdmi

It seems I found a accidental solution ;) I bricked my my phone and to unbrick it I had to install a driver and had to figure out disable the driver signature enforcement via command line in Windows 10 because I could not use the GUI due to the HDMI issue making the recovery options not accessible o...

Re: hdmi

Thank you for your replies. I gave up because I can not access the boot menu :( the hdmi won't display until windows has already started the boot process. For now I will just keep it as a windows game center in my Tv room :)

hdmi

I have a Dell laptop with a broken screen that I have been using via HDMI on a tv. It currently has Windows 10 installed which is killing me. If install Solyd will the HDMI work right away?

Re: [SOLVED] Password is not recognized

Yeah sorry forgot to answer that question. Yes I did/do use special characters. I just journeyed back to Solyd after a stint of running Debian pure and have used special characters for quite some time now. I also use passwords longer than 8 characters so I typically have select do not truncate or us...

Re: [SOLVED] Password is not recognized

I used Schoelje's suggestion and used the root password for the live session and it worked out. Not sure why it did it but it's all good now. Thanks.

[SOLVED] Password is not recognized

I just installed a fresh copy of SolydK from the latest iso and I cannot log in with my password. I tried reinstalling 3 times but my system still will not take the password I setup during the install. On the final install I set the option to have the OS automatically boot into my desktop so I can a...

Re: Your First Linux Distro?

LinuxMint 5 XFCE (2007/8?). Tried to do Ubuntu at first but couldn't even manage to get dial-up to work. Found Mint and everthing went super smooth. Wanted to get deeper into Linux so switched up to LMDE and now I'm here. I run every distro I come accross in a VM though. I used to have a TON of iso'...

Re: Segmentation fault help

After reinstalling I ended up with the same problem today. Turns out it was absolutly on me because I had enabled mountall-bootclean.sh assuming it would clean my temporary filesystems and all would be all good but it didn't want to play well. I assume it's because it removed temp stuff the system c...

Re: Segmentation fault help

No. I'll try though. I uninstalled the other kernels after upgrade and install of liquorix. I'll spark up smxi and see. The other thing I forgot to mention is my wifi won't work either. I can get eth1 to connect but wlan0 won't do anything. I can boot to recovery and startx boots to the root desktop...

Re: Financial independence of SolydXK

Ok so I only just glanced through eache page from this post so forgive me if I repeat something already said. I wouldn't mind some some light ads. Paid service/support would be cool by me too. What about a store? Lots of other distros have stickers shirts mouse pads and all kinds of stuff. Certain s...

Help with sudo/kdesudo

This I think could be an issue with kdesudo but not entirely sure. I installed SolydK for some family and the household needs 2 (husband & wife) sudo accounts. They are new to Linux and I'd like everything to be smooth for them. The issue for me right now is that I have tried to add both sudo-to-be ...

Re: Testing needed: kdeconnect

Works for me on a Samsung S3 with CyanogenMod 10.2 but tried yesterday on CM-11 Nightly with no luck (text messaging didn't work either). Can even connect to an old Motorola Atrix 4G with the app on it as well and get notifications from that phone also with CM-10. In CM you have make sure your Priva...
