Thunar custom action broken

Hello, I've recently install a vanilla solydX 64 on a new computer. Using the custom action by right-click to install a new font, I noticed it doesn't work at all. No reaction on the computer...and no new addition neither in the user file system nor when using Libreoffice. So I decided to dig this b...

Re: Update of Firefox 59 (i386arch) in US instead of my locale (fr)

I've used your 'todo' tip on the post https://forums.solydxk.com/viewtopic.php?p=67845#p67845 Here are my notes about it: * in about:config, there were neither intl.locale.matchOS nor intl.locale.requested when I opened it the first time (of course I've added these items) *after closing and reopenin...

[Solved] Update of Firefox 59 (i386arch) in US instead of my locale (fr)

Hello all, Since the latest update of Firefox (58->59) it's impossible to have the GUI part translated into french, even after: - purging the install - "renewing" firefox (reinstall without any plugins) I noticed this topic here: https://forums.solydxk.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7208 where it's mention...

Re: Goodbye to our team member

Thank you Arjen , and thank you Martin for these kind words. I can easily understand that most of people that use the forum ATM don't know me as an active contributor. For several months I was off with Solyd, but I had the hope to come back more or less quickly. The life hasn't allowed me to do that...

Re: SolydXK-9 beta: testing upgrade, ISOs, changes and more

Glad to see beta's Solyd coming ;) About this issue: LightDM Manager crashes It's possible to drop lightDM manager for lightdm-gtk-greeter-settings, present since Stretch in Debian's repositories. see: https://packages.debian.org/stretch/lightdm-gtk-greeter-settings It allows to make the same change...

Debian mirrors speed measure doensn't work anymore in Updatemanager

When using the test for the debian's repositories mirrors speed, UM gives me 0 to 2 kb/s for each one. The speed seems correct for Solyd's repositories. Nevertheless UM continues to warn for Debian updates, and is taking cake of them with a decend bandwidth for uploading. I suppose there's a...

httpredir discontinued

As this service is now 'deprecated', it seems better to use deb.debian.org for the Update Manager to prevent the time it will disappear and not be re-directed anymore. Source here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=817155 note: I've added this bug on github too: https://github.com/So...

[Solved ] Debian closing FTP public services

I don't know if there's a risk of bug for Solyd (I haven't look at the code of our tools, I'm unable to do that ATM  ) but Debian is about to close FTP servers. If some of our tools use it, it could be unable to work correctly at November 1, 2017. Edit: Source: https://www.debian.org/News/2017...

Re: Update Manager

Ane, the difference might be because the french text is so much longer? No it isn't the longer text that causes translation’s glitches. With UM 2.8.1, I had the same problem in french as you in german ie: Phrases No. 30 to 33 are not translated into german, although the translation is done on trans...

Re: Update Manager

Fonts on the info-page could be a lot bigger. Correct. Or we could think about another way to show this message, or other small adjustements (put the text in the middle of the window, add a background/SolydXK logo) because it appears empty for so little information. Phrases No. 30 to 33 are not tra...

Re: Failed Update - will not fetch previous updates

Again sorry for my late reply. Thank you very much for your elaboration Zill. The thing that puzzles me is why the 4.4.2-1 version came up once in update manager, and after that never showed up again. As mentioned the repo listings was installed by default. And...is your problem solved? I hope so. ;)

Re: Sources.list

The link to the thread 'Sources.list' shows up at the top under Annoucements in every section of the forum, even if you've just entered the 'Community & Development » Testing zone' section. That is confusing. I think it either shouldn't be there in that section, or the first posting should contain ...
