Re: UP 2014.10.15

I updated my system today; unfortunately it did not go smoothly: there were problems which interrupted the update and left libc unconfigured, which prevented me from starting X. I was able to solve them by apt-get -f install, which updated the x86 version of libc; unfortunately I haven't copied the ...

Mobile broadband: "3G only" setting ignored after latest UP

Hello After latest UP, I noticed a few changes to the plasma-nm applet. After connecting, though, I noticed that connection speed had become much slower than before the update and the icon showed the letter "E", even though I have set the connection to only accept 3G. So, it appears that particular ...

Re: UP and BE/BO 2014.07.15

I have updated my system and encountered a few issues. First of all, the UM crashed right while upgrading libc6, leaving it unconfigured. Quite dangerous... Anyway, I resumed the update from terminal and was able to fix that. Next, I encountered the following problem, but was able to fix it by using...

Kinfocenter: computer freezes completely

In kinfocenter, whenever I select the opengl tab, the screen immediately becomes black, and the computer stops responding (not even ctrlk+alt+F1, ctrl+alt+del etc work any more). In Xorg.0.log, I find: [ 242.848] (EE) [ 242.848] (EE) Backtrace: [ 242.849] (EE) 0: /usr/bin/X (xorg_backtrace+0x48) [0x...

Re: Libopenjpeg: dependencies on obsolete version

For the next UP, could you manage to rebuild those packages? From what I see, there's no need to edit or patch anything

Re: [Solved] Sudden Loud Volume (After Recent UP)

@francesco312: I second that! Only thing is, I think that KDE has to do the fix, not SolydXK. Maybe you could go to the KDE official forums and let them know or email the developers? I would think though that if OpenSuse already did the patch on their own, maybe Schoelje and Santa can too. But idea...

Re: [Solved] Sudden Loud Volume (After Recent UP)

I've also been affected by this bug. A different (and IMO more satisfactory) solution is the patch used by opensuse: https://build.opensuse.org/package/view_file/KDE:Distro:Factory/kdebase4-runtime/Remove-volume-control-from-KNotify.patch?expand=1 This patch fixes the issue without having to renounc...

Libopenjpeg: dependencies on obsolete version

Hello I've noticed, as I was cleaning packages in the local/obsolete section of synaptics, that among them there was libopenjpeg2, which is not in any repository (a part from linuxmint, which a standard installation of solydxk should not have). Instead, solydxk provides a more updated version of tha...

Re: When Will Installer Allow /Home on Own Drive?

by installing debian stable first, and then modifying the sources.list and apt preferences to point to solydxk repos and dist-upgrading; it appears to have worked. the Debian (graphical) installer is really powerful interesting idea, I must install on /sdb, I will try it. after dist-upgrade, it's c...

Re: When Will Installer Allow /Home on Own Drive?

Recently, I had to install solydxk on a computer with particular hardware configuration (ie, I wanted to install the system on 2 drives, using raid for some partitions not for others); I solved the problem by installing debian stable first, and then modifying the sources.list and apt preferences to ...

restore qualculator in the runner

Hi I have updated SolydK to the latest UP, with the latest version of KDE and all; everything worked fine; wonderful as usual. Just one thing I have noticed: the calculator inside the runner (which you obtain by clicking alt+F2 or from the menu, by starting the command with "=") has reverted to a fa...
