Re: requesting advice about Ugee 2150/pressure sensitivity

You are going too fast. Or too mixed up. I understood that you installed the Digimend packages. Now you are saying, the deb package install did not work? The deb package is the right choice. If that doesn't install, stop fumbling around, copy the error message and report the issue here. "Doesn't wor...

Re: requesting advice about Ugee 2150/pressure sensitivity

So it is recognised but still not working? Or just pressure sensitivity not working? Did you go through the trouble shooting in http://digimend.github.io/support/howto/trbl/locating_failure/ and http://digimend.github.io/support/howto/trbl/diagnostics/ ? Especially the stuff following the command su...

Re: Can I disable bootup verbose?

I always disable the plymouth boot splash, so I'm wondering why yours is not enabled. Start solydxk-system and have la look whats enabled under the plymouth tab.

Re: Notification of updates fails

What is a "MBR box"? Is that the defunkt install of your other thread? Please provide at least basic information if you need help.

That being said, I haven't seen that behaviour on SolydX and I have no idea what might cause it.

Re: Dell, Windows and UEFI

I was, and still am, confused as to where to post a question about "software" failing during "installation" on new "hardware".:) Stuff failing during installation belongs into "installation" but your trigger cycle most probably happened during upgrade after installation - we should have a forum sec...

Re: Dell, Windows and UEFI

The trigger cycle has to be resolved before anything else will work and it seems that solydxk-system is involved. Since Arjen is taking care of other responsibilities at the moment :D there is not much we can do about solydxk-system at the moment. I'm also wondering about "Found a dos partition tabl...

Xen VMs: Trouble with yesterdays debian point release 9.5

The Debian Point release 9.5 might not be working as it should. I'm having trouble running the package kit updater on SolydX, it hangs halfway. We (not meaning the Solydxk team but the tech team at my club at home) are experiencing weird stuff - our VMs refuse to boot with the new kernel and we can'...

Re: Fresh install

1. Backup your data and /home and maybe /etc. 2. Download the latest ISO from https://solydxk.com/downloads and verify the download. 3. Boot up the live system 4. Decide about partitions (my recommendation would be to use a separate partition for data and maybe 20 gb spare place for a second sytem i...

Re: Dell, Windows and UEFI

I have only experience with Dell Notebooks, it was always a hassle to get the darn thing to boot, but always worked out in the end. SolydX generally installs well on UEFI. Please give us the Dell modell number and system specs - you can sudo apt install inxi inxi -Fxz on that working xubuntu install...

Re: Panel Icons

On my SolydX9 menu and desktop the office icons are green, blue etc. so I don't know why you see grey. What do you mean by "that I have added to the panel"?

You could go into "Settings - Appearance - Symbols" and choose another theme (SolydX had Oxygen) and see what happens.

Re: Fontsmoothing wine does not work

Nobody can help you if you don't give details: Wine version, Win version and, most of all, name of the Win program. If somebody here happens to use the same program s/he might be able to help.
If not, as I said, your best bet is to look up the program in the winehq database and ask other users there.

Apparmor setup included? - Probably not.

Arjen, do you have a writeup how you did it? So we could implement it too without reinstall?

Re: [Solved] Create USB pendrive boot mode UEFI

The beauty of SolydXK's USB Creator is that you can put several images on one pen drive and select the OS on bootup since nowadays pen drives are usually bigger than 4 GB. All depends on your priorities.

Re: Create USB pendrive boot mode UEFI

You don't need etcher or anything else from 3rd party repos. Use gparted to delete the old partition, create a gpt partition table and then format FAT32. You can use USB creator from the SolydXK live system to copy the ISO to the pen drive. About secure boot: This depends on your hardware. I have ma...

Re: Anyone using radiotray?

Or it only works with XFCE but not with KDE? Looks like. Since radiotray uses GTK it was probably made for Gnome/XFCE/some other GTK desktop. KDE uses QT, not GTK. There's a lot of programs in the repo that are optimized for one desktop only - even if you manage to get it to work, it might not be a...

Re: Clone partitions with Gparted

Clonezilla would mean no possibility to change to gpt and/or rearrange sizes. I thought I could format the disk with gpt, clone the single partitions and then repair the boot data. But maybe there is no advantage with gpt anyway?

If nothing else works, clonezilla is certainly the safest way to go.

Re: Breeze themes do not respect panel plugin color settings ...

I have no idea about themes. From the themes I have installed only oxygen, breeze and adwaita (and their descendants) don't respect the color picker. I'm trying to figure out what they do wrong. Also grey/bluebird has it right, greybird-solydx has it wrong. It's the progressbar-bar asset that overwr...
