Re: Hybrid system installing both GPU drivers

O, i have a Intel GPU and Nvidia GPU but like to run Intel as default due to lesser power consumption and not needing to use a powerfull GPU for daily tasks like internet and checking forums.. That is what Bumblebee was developed for. Its huge adavntage over Prime is that it reduces power consumpti...

Re: Hybrid system installing both GPU drivers

Bumblebee and Prime are two reciprocally incompatible driver sets. It is possible to install one or another, but not both at the same time. Bumblebee allows switching between two GPUs. Prime does not. To run any program or command on Nvidia GPU with Bumblebee it's enough to prefix it with optirun Fo...

Re: Donotlink - link without improving search engine positio

A big doubt about Privacy Badger effectiveness is related to the fact that apparently it relies on sites' reaction to the Do No Track request. If (hypothetical) 99% of sites ignore it, will Privacy Badger be able to block their trackers? Don't know. Ghostery doesn't rely on Do Not Track functionality.

At a first look Privacy Badger (from EFF) seems to be able to compete with Ghostery.

Re: Debian Plymouth Manager won't change the Theme

Debian keeps all Plymouth themes in the /usr/share/plymouth/themes/ directory. Each theme is represented by its own folder: $ ls -lha /usr/share/plymouth/themes/ total 17M drwxr-xr-x 23 root root 4.0K Jul 13 12:40 . drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4.0K Nov 24 2014 .. drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4.0K Nov 24 2014 d...

Re: Debian Plymouth Manager won't change the Theme

Try to use native Debian tool to work with animated cartoons. It is mainly one simple command plymouth-set-default-theme To use it succesfully, it is neccessary to enter the root account in terminal. Only sudo is not enough. To get help about the command $ su Password: # plymouth-set-default-theme -...

apt policy - where from?

Where apt's "policy" command/operation is coming from? "apt policy" is very handy. I use it frequently in SolydK and LMDE. But in native Debian, siduction, Tanglu "apt policy" returns the "Invalid operation policy" error. All five distros have the same version of the "apt" package installed - 1.0.9....
