Re: Breakages and News tracking Debian Testing

If you have this with Synaptic and others, trying another theme might work. My default theme was a complete mess with GTK+3 3.20, but the one I currently use (MurrinaCappuccino) is acceptable. Most of the Murrina themes seem to work. I tested several themes and each one seems to have an issue: at o...

Re: Breakages and News tracking Debian Testing

<snip> Edit Scrollbars remain invisible in Firefox (which is GTK+3 these days). The space required for the bars is there, but the bit to drag up/down or left/right isn't. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1234158 I have seen this and also noticed that in some instances radio button are m...

Re: Breakages and News tracking Debian Testing

There doesn't seem to be anything on the web about the kactivitymanagerd problem, but at least invisble scroll bars in Firefox is a known issue (see the link in my last posting yesterday). I expect that will be fixed in 47.0. I've also noticed a significant increase in CPU temperatures whenever GTK...

Re: Breakages and News tracking Debian Testing

I updated my SolydK EE last week and after this, everytime I boot, kde bug tracer gives me a message saying that kactivitymanagerd closed unexpectedly. Then my mouse wheel becomes extremely slow in dolphin and kmenu. And firefox is not launched using the desktop qt theme as it did before. Now it's l...

After update issues with kactivitymanagerd and qt x gtk themes

Hi. I just finished updating my SolydK EE today. After this, everytime I boot, kde bug tracer gives me a message saying that kactivitymanagerd closed unexpectedly. Then my mouse wheel becomes extremely slow in dolphin and kmenu. And firefox is not launched using the desktop qt theme as it did before...

Re: Several fonts problems

Try experimenting with the settings under Tools > Options... > LibreOffice > View > User Interface section It didn't work but there's something very curious about it. When I get a dialog box with unreadable text if I click on the minimize button on the top of it, it's instantly minimized and brough...

Re: Updatemanager problem on EE

I cannot replicate that. I used your sources.list and successfully changed the repository using the update manager's preference window. I'm glad you solved it by changing the sources.list file manually but there might be something other wrong then the update manager. This is how the sources.list lo...

Re: Update extremely slow

After updating UM to 2.9.5 it loads again. I was able to test mirrors speed on it. The only issue was that the save mirrors button made no effect at all after many minutes. Then I had to copy manually the mirrors addresses to sources.list. Now the mirrors work and the brazilian mirror is giving full...

Re: Updatemanager problem on EE

There's an exception on the timeout of the url you're using and I cannot replicate that without knowing the repositories you're using. Please, post back the output of: cat /etc/apt/sources.list Note: httpredir repositories should now be listed in the preferences window of the Update Manager. I've j...

Re: Update extremely slow

the 2nd line (httpredir) is actually a mirror. it's an auto mirror which (supposed to) auto-select the best mirror for you. the problem is that it sometimes didn't work. you can follow grizzler guide here https://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C5347445469 to manually select t...

Re: Updatemanager problem on EE

I've upgraded the UM (v2.9.4). It's now in the repository. Let me know if that worked. Sorry, but for me updating didn't work. I receive this error: updatemanager Command to execute: ps -ef | grep -v sudo | grep -v grep | grep 'updatemanagertray.py' | awk '{print $2}' python3 /usr/lib/solydxk/updat...

Re: Update extremely slow

About Updatemanager: Let's see the out put of: sudo killall python3 updatemanager Just doing this fixed the problem for me. Whenever the UM updates itself, it tends to hang and this fixes it. Edit: Hm but I can't start UM from the tray icon anymore. Menu and terminal work fine though. Im starting a...

Re: Several fonts problems

It is known that some fonts does not render quite well in Wine; it seems to be a price to pay for compatibility. About the LibreOffice fonts problem, I can see all my installed fonts well (about 200 families), but noticed that some fonts, specially the 'fantasy' ones sometimes does not have all the...

Re: Several fonts problems

Perhaps it's a similar problem vacnt had: https://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?p=60271#p60271 If that doesn't improve things, we need to know which font and font settings you're using and if changing font to the default Clear Sans changes anything. The firstsnapshot I created using wine was with...

I don't if two months later somebody is still going to read this thread but it's worth to try. Here is what I got after many updates. I'm in Brazil then when I choose brazilian mirrors I get full speed downloads. Nice. (Sorry for thinking they wouldn't work right in my posts above.) But even in a si...

Several fonts problems

Hi. I use SolydK EE and I have had some problems with fonts. In wine some parts of fonts are very thin, even though I already tried every tip I found online to imrpove or smooth wine fonts. In libreoffice some texts in some dialog boxes appear as several squares instead of fonts. In dolphin when I p...

Re: Community ISO maintenance and build issues

One of the best features I found is that the system is configured to use vlc but it responds to multimedia keys even when it's minimized or at the tray icon. Previously I had to use amarok to play music because vlc didn't respond to multimedia keys. Now it does and then we can play any media at the ...
