for around $100 you can get fast rpi-like stuffs. browsing is actually a resource eater activity. second only to gaming. you'll need 4gb or higher ram to comfortly browse the sites
hi kurotsugi,

Re: AIO, HDMI Stick, Mini-PC, Monitor?

It seems to be very easy! And they launched RaspberryPi 4 (with up to 4 GB RAM) recently! https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/projects/raspberry-pi-setting-up At the end, I can use it like a "normal" pc with a good mid-level hardware, right? Or do I have some limitations, due to the ARM technology, ...

Re: AIO, HDMI Stick, Mini-PC, Monitor?

If it is not difficult, I could consider this option as well:

- Buy and configure a Raspberry-Pi (never done: is it easy? I'd like just to have a access to websites and their media centers and watch movies, news, listen to music, etc.) and a new monitor.

AIO, HDMI Stick, Mini-PC, Monitor?

Hi everybody. I'd like to change soon my external 24' monitor, that we use mostly to watch movies over my laptop. But since my laptop is pretty old as well (almost 10 years old, although it works with SolydK9 flawless, except in summer (overheating problems)), I'm considering some options: - Buy a n...

Re: SolydXK 10 Preview and Testing

quick question: would it be feasible to wait just a few weeks and integrate Xfce 4.14 in SolydX 10? Xfce 4.14 will be released by mid-August. https://wiki.xfce.org/releng/4.14/roadmap Some others distros, like MX, are going to do that before releasing their own new version based on Debian 10. Since ...

Re: USB Creator

This could be possibly interesting: yesterday I downloaded the Debian 10 Gnome 64 bit iso https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/amd64/iso-hybrid/debian-live-10.0.0-amd64-gnome.iso and I burnt it with SolydK USB creator on a USB stick. According to the dialog window, the operation was suc...

MX-Linux success: why?

What's your opinion about the MX-Linux success?
What are they doing so good so that they became so popular in the last months?
And... what could we learn/copy/use from them?

Thanks!

Re: SolydXK 10 Preview and Testing

Is it planned a restyling (background, theme, icons, etc.) for solydxk 10 in comparison with solydxk 9?

Re: Firefox: "Privacy and Security" settings are blocked from my organization

I suppose the actual firefox settings (provided by firefox-solydxk-adjustments) combined with ublock origin, https everywhere and privacy badger offers an ideal protection, right? if it so, I'm fine with it. Nevertheless: Why are Trackers (blocked) Cryptominers Fingerprinters not selected by default?

Re: New installation

Thank you for your tips. What about this: - merge sda7 and sda8 and here install solydk (the new partition size will be ca. 14 GB). - split sda5 in 2 partitions (still possible?): swap (ca. 4GB) and ext4 (ca. 8GB). This /ext4 partition with 8 GB could be used as /home. 8 GB should be more that enoug...

New installation

Hi, I'd like to reistall SolydK soon. I do not know if the actual version or the coming one. I'll see. However: my hard disk situation is, as you can see here, complicated... hd.png sda 1 & sda 2: are windows/packard bell reserved partitions. I'm not sure if I could delete them. Probably not. sda 3:...

Re: This nights Firefox addon f***up - use Waterfox instead - fix is online

Last update: A Firefox release has been pushed — version 66.0.4 on Desktop and Android, and version 60.6.2 for ESR. This release repairs the certificate chain to re-enable web extensions, themes, search engines, and language packs that had been disabled (Bug 1549061). There are remaining issues that...
