Re: Black Screen after installing SolydKEE 10

Update:

I installed Debian Stretch 9.2 Gnome 64 bit non-free version in the place of SolydK EE10. Am quite happy with it.

Re: Black Screen after installing SolydKEE 10

Hello ilu, Tried instaling once more. Before starting, I right-clicked the Network Manager icon in order to precisely set up the wireless connection, with the intent to purposely ignore IPv6. When the installation is completed and after reboot, I got the same black screen. lspci -nnk gives: 01:00.0 ...

Re: Black Screen after installing SolydKEE 10

I also followed the tutorial by ScottQuier dated 13 Feb 2014: https://forums.solydxk.nl/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2908 However, in the end I got the following errors: E: Failed to fetch http://deb.debian.org/..../nvidia-detect_375.82-4-amd64. Re: Black Screen after installing SolydKEE 10

Can you get into the console with ctrl-alt-f1? Yes. See Item #5 below. 1. Added acpi=off and vga=normal as kernel boot options to Grub menu 2. F10 to boot 3. Saw black screen with userid and password boxes. Noticed that only xserver-xorg session is available, but not plasma-desktop. 4. Signed in an...

Black Screen after installing SolydKEE 10

Hello, My PC is multiboot with win 7, SolydK 9 and other Linux distros. It has GeForce 9600GT as video card. Today I had to install SolydK EE 10 64-bit twice, choosing safe mode as method of installation. After reboot, the screen stays black for a long time before showing a mostly black login screen...

Re: A Christmas present from SolydXK

Hello Schoelje, Do you mean " Update Manager"? The circle with 3 black dots in taskbar shows that my system is up-to-date. When I right click it as a trial to open Update Manager, the UM window indicates I am up to date. However the circle shows a green download arrow which means there are updates a...

Re: A Christmas present from SolydXK

Greetings!

Thanks for the good news. How do I upgrade to 201512 edition? I just re-installed 201506 (Jessie) because my grub2 repair was messed up somehow.

Happy Holidays everyone!

Re-installing Grub to MBR. How?

Hello, Today's updates resulted in me having the screen stuck at "Configuring grub-pc". I later found out that this is because last year I somehow installed grub in root partition, let's say /dev/sda5. During re-installing June 2015 version of SolydK, I put grub in the MBR. However, after "apt-get u...

Re: New releases!

Hi, I am pretty up to date and I see Debian 8.2 using the command given by Zill. However, I am wondering why my SolydK is still based on kernel 3.16.0-4-amd64 while Debian 8.2 is now using kernel 4.1... Here's the content of my souces.list file: deb http://repository.solydxk.nl/ solydxk main upstrea...

Re: New releases!

Hi,

Debian 8.2 was recently released. Does anyone know when we are going to have a "new" SolydK based on 8.2?

Upgrade instructions will be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi, I tried again and this time was successful in launching Firefox version 33.1 . I took the opportunity Firefox is OK for now, to copy troubleshooting info to the clipboard.
