Re: Come on Mozilla

Well...even when google stop the 32bit support your chrome it doesn't means it broke. You still can enjoy netflix on your chrome :3 That's what I will be doing. BTW Mozilla did say they were looking into adding the nonfree codec, after all they already have a licence from Netflix for MS & Mac. As y...

Re: (Pointless ranting to you guys) Windows Rant

Things like this make me glad I ditched Windows.

If Win7, which is talked about as the best version, is like this, I wonder what Win10 can do? (Missing out Win8, of course - which even die hard MS users ranted about).

Re: Come on Mozilla

I shall download it and see if it now does. Nah...I still have to use Chrome for Netflix. Just tried it and this is what I got: " Whoops, something went wrong... Missing component We cannot find all the required components to play Netflix on this device. Please visit chrome://components, locate the...

Re: Come on Mozilla

As Chromium is simply Chrome without the spyware, I don't think anyone is being "forced" to upgrade! Chromium works well on my 32-bit SolydX system. :-) According to all the stuff I've found on the subject, Chromium, like Mozilla for Linux, does not support Netflix.... I shall download it and see i...

Come on Mozilla

I've always preferred Firefox, but I use Chrome for access to Netflix. Now Chrome has announced it is ditching 32bit. I have 2 perfectly, adequate for my needs, 32 bit computers, and it seems that Google is trying to force everyone into upgrading.   What really riles me is that Mo...

Update Manager 2.7.2

This is really a thank you. :P At last with UM 2.7.2 the black listed files are ignored and the icon in the tray has a lovely tick in the middle of it. I don't have the 'updates available' thingo there all the time, so now I don't have to keep checking to see if there really are updates. :cla...

Re: Reasons I like Linux over Windows

I think MS may be expecting to charge for their 'service' in the near future. Probably a yearly subscription with 'free' updates that take more and more control of your machine. I can just imagine it "Pay your subscription or your system stops working." With an extra late fee when you find everythin...

Re: Keeping LibreOffice updated

I'm running LibreOffice 5 from the backports on my old updated 32bit.
It's going well, no troubles found yet. :)

I was under the impression that if it was in the backports it was counted as stable. :?:

Re: Xsane has gone insane

I've had that happen. I think it might have something to do with Firefox, believe it or not. Seems it does that if I was watching YouTube videos in Firefox or something. The problem seems intermittent. Good to hear from you, Raven! Definitely odd behaviour. Xsane seems to mess up all the time for m...

Xsane has gone insane

I used the scanner for the first time since the Jessie update. The Xsane preview window was blank except for a few bits of black and colour here and there. I googled the problem and the advice was to reinstall. So I removed xsane and xsane-common, reinstalled and had the same thing. Then I completel...

I have Solyd stable on my main machine, and will be putting EE on my test one.

The best of both worlds. ;)

Re: Update Manager 2.6.5 blacklist (Solved, but still a myst

I would be interested to know if you have had any problem with these upgrades or is it that you need to retain the old format so that you can see your Gramps data on different machines running older versions? I find the series 4 versions are a bit of an overkill for my purposes. Far too many option...

Re: Update Manager 2.6.5 blacklist

I have blacklisted packages in the UM 2.6.5. Under "Einstellungen" (which probably is "Settings" in english) and then "Blacklisted Packages". And the UM obeys the blacklist. This menu entry is not there for you? Or your package is not in the list? As it worked for you, ilu. I tried again and I mana...

Update Manager 2.6.5 blacklist (Solved, but still a mystery)

The latest update I installed used UM 2.6.5 and it overwrote my pinned program. (Gramps 3.4.9-1 to 4.1) :x Of course the new one is completely incompatible with the old, but fortunately version 4 had a warning. I've removed version 4.1 and reinstalled version 3.4.9. I've pinned it with Synaptic, but...

Re: [In Progress...] New forum organisation

The latest things to do are to clean a little in the categories. I propose to create an archive section for 'deprecated posts' where a team member who find something totally unuseful for the 'new SolydXK' (without update packs) could put into. What's your opinion, please? Definitely a good thing fr...

Nice one folks!
