Re: Dual-Boot Solydx vs windows 10

Good night. My laptop uses UEFI, but at the moment I have UEFI disabled to be able to use Dual-Boot between windows 8.1 and SolydX (64 bts).

Edit
Does that laptop run a UEFI (not in compatibility mode) or a BIOS?

Re: Remastering SolydXK [adapted: 22 July 2015]

Good night. Does this tutorial still apply with the new SolydX updates? If you have the need to create a SolydXK iso with some extra programs or custom configuration that you can use on a USB stick, or even plan to build a CE of SolydXK, this is the thing for you. Disclaimer SolydXK Constructor was ...

Thank you. Your response will help you a lot. Hi jsvenancio, try having a read of the link below https://dflinux.frama.io/thebeginnershandbook/lcdd08-administration/ It not only covers Synatic's but also Apt as well, it does go on to other package managers which are not in SolydXK but it will give y...

Re: [How To]Installing applications from the server

Sometimes the problem is knowing exactly which packages to install from Synaptic.

Use Synaptic Package Manager. It's very easy to use if you know the names of the packages you want to install. I prefer it over the older package manager.
There's also Packages in the System menu.

I'd start with tweaking my network setting. IIRC some vpn server need custom sysctl configuration. for detailed information you might have to ask the service provider.

Re: [Help] Resize EFI Partition

Good evening. Thanks, it works with Fast Boot and Secure Boot off. You have to disable "Fast boot" - fast boot is fast because it starts Windows without checking anything else. You have to disable secure boot because Debian doesn't have a signed boot file - see my post here: https://forums.solydxk.c...

Re: [Help] Resize EFI Partition

Good evening. I followed the instructions and managed to install Distro SolydX. But I have at least two problems to start, I could not install the Nvidia drives and I can not do the dual boot between SolydX and wIndows 8.1. In relation to the second problem I think it has to do with "Boot Scure" and...

Re: [Help] Resize EFI Partition

Thank you. I'm going to test it today. I've updated the live installer so that you can install SolydXK without changing the partition layout. Run a live session and open a terminal: apt update apt install live-installer-3 live-installer-3 -p You can now install with a smaller /boot or /boot/efi part...
