Re: Power Manager issues

UPDATE after the latest kernel update my system seems broken. the screen turned off as expected but it didn't gives any response when I tried to wake it up. the workaround is by using another tty to trigger the screen. liquorix kernel behave similarly too so I'm not sure whether if it really the ke...

Re: Power Manager issues

we need lightdm at least for two thing: login into our system and secure our system from unauthorized user. it doesn't have to be lightdm but lightdm has several benefit compared to other login manager. the main problem was, debian is tend to lean towards servers, where a pretty login manager is not...

Code: Select all

[Enable Suspend on Idle]
Identity=unix-user:*
Action=org.freedesktop.login1.suspend
ResultAny=auth_admin_keep
ResultInactive=yes
ResultActive=yes
IIRC this part should be already added in solydxk as default, along with enabling "no password" mount and other stuff. or perhaps I missed to suggest it?

Re: [Solved] Update of SolydK 9 by Discover

I think there's no need to apologize. some of the old user indeed still carry the old habbit of maintaining a debian testing based system, which exactly the opposite (i.e : always do "dist-upgrade" instead of "upgrade". do an "upgrade" on debian testing will ruin your system). your good intention sh...

Re: [Solved] Update of SolydK 9 by Discover

for main version user, the correct command should be "apt-get upgrade". "dist-upgrade" only used for upgrading the system, e.x: from solydxk 9 to solydxk 10. while there's almost no differences on stock system, "dist-upgrade" could potentially ruin your system if you have custom repo list.

Re: Breakage and News tracker for debian testing [buster]

virtualbox issue is now fixed.
@san-claudio: if you're not using virtualbox you can upgrade it safely. there's still the glitch in the kernel as I mentioned earlier but it doesn't affect either our system functionality nor stability. you also still has the old kernel so it doesn't really matter.

Re: Using Live-Installer-3 for a Custom Debian Live Environemnt

the live installer itself isn't used to create the custom livecd. you'll need to install solydxk-constructor and customize the cd from it.

Re: Where are EE ISOs?

after debian installation you need to: 1. add the repo 2. install the keyring 3. do "apt-get update" 4. install soldyxk related packages from the new repo 5. enjoy your solydxk enthusiast version :3 the caveat is that the desktop setting won't be the same with the one from solydxk. though, the enthu...

Re: Breakage and News tracker for debian testing [buster]

virtualbox is the only thing noticeably broken by this update. I think most of us didn't affected by this issue. though, it means another delay for the EE iso development. this issue seems have been reported during the kernel RC stage so I hope it will be fixed soon.

Re: Where are EE ISOs?

currently, there's a problem with virtualbox packages so creating the iso isn't possible yet. if you want to get into the enthusiast, I'd suggest to use solydxk-fying a debian route.

Re: Dell, Windows and UEFI

AFAIK there are 2 or 3 hidden partition for windows. one of them is a boot partition which should not deleted but the other two should be safe to remove. Dell is supporting linux so I think it should be easy to install linux on it. though, the windows stuff might make things a lil bit complicated. h...

Re: Community ISO maintenance and build issues - 2

btw, is it really safe to run deborphan there? in my experience autoremove is enough. OTOH deborphan could became quite nasty. the system would still works, but since deborphan works deeper, some recommended packages sometimes got removed, which leads to loss of some functionalities.

unfortunately, our forums is lacking from those adventurous spirit. sadly, that including me :oops:
got a new job and haven't touch sid since then. well...the repo is active on the list but it's blocked by apt-pinning. I'm not sure if anyone here except you still using sid.

anyway, goodluck.
