Re: random wallpapers in xfce?

Not sure if this will be the answer you are looking for but, in SolydX I use DesktopNova which can be downloaded/installed from the repos. Settings/preferences can be set and tailored pretty much to your liking.

Re: Introduction To Linux Mooc

Thanks for the heads up on this. I am very interested in it and I may sign up for it, but first need to figure out if I can really find the spare time needed to truely devote to it.

Re: I need your opinion: off-line installation of locales

My selection would be on-line with a smaller Iso. The off-line would be useless for me as all I need is the one language/local and all the added material would only make the Iso larger and of no use to me. If I needed the additional material, I could download/install at installation time or at a lat...

Re: XP Computers conveted to Solydxk

I dont know, not sure, and could be wrong :? but if it is being installed on "older" hardware (as in "how much older"), wouldnt it be better to use a SolydX flavor (Xfce) since it would theorhetically be easier (lower) on resource usage as opposed to using something with Kde? Like I said, I dont kno...

Re: Nothing to say...

Welcome to the forum! I usually dont have much to say or dont know what to say either. One thing I can say is that SolydX has pretty much become my default distro to boot into. Over the last week even with various choices to use, SolydX has been the only distro I have booted into in that time span. :D

Windows 9 ?

Not really a Linux distro but, It is rumoured that MS is going to be releasing a "new" windoze OS to be called Windows 9. From what I briefly read, the new name/number (instead of associating the release name with 8) could be to draw attention away from the failures in 8. Anyway, here is an info art...

As more and more time and usuage goes by, I can definitely agree with you on this. Except in my case it would be SolydX.

This is neat that SolydXK may get interviewed. It can definitely help spread the word about SolydXK and steer more future users and helpers its way.

Re: Your First Linux Distro?

My first installed Linux distro if I remember correctly was Ubuntu 10.10. I installed it and at times ( since I was a first timer ) when I had it really messed up, had to reinstall it several times. :o  After gnome 3 came out and I saw the things of the future to come, I started searching (hopi...

Re: Robolinux? What do you guys think?

I was curious about it, so I downloaded the iso about a week ago and tried out the live session. I didnt really experience anything outstanding about it that made it really stand out above and beyond any other distro that I have tried. I am a Linux newbie so I may be missing something, but it really...

Hello milinsky and welcome to the forum! I am new here also. What part of Russia do you reside? As to the naming of solydxk, I was not sure but thought of it to meaning solid, just spelled differently.

New SolydX User

Hi Guys and Gals! New to SolydXK and specifically SolydX. After "playing around" with it in live cd mode for awhile, I installed it to my Acer AspireOne D255E netbook. Specs: Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz, 512KB cache, 1GB DDR3 memory. So far so good! So far I really like the usability right out of the bo...
