Re: Device Driver Manager (DDM) - help needed [upd:22-12-14]

Following up on my previous post. DDM starts with the box in the install column pre ticked. New-Look-DDM.jpeg Clicking [Install] had no effect. Does the pre ticked box mean it's already there? Re: HE to Jessie upgrade

Update seems to have gone well. Everything I've checked so far is working except for auto login. I keep playing around with the settings in Settings\System Settings\Login Screen\Convenience but can't seem to get rid of the Debian login screen where I must enter my user name and password. Anyone else...

3 choices in UM Latest update: 2015.01.31

Now I'm confused by the terminology used to describe different versions of SolydXK. Currently running what I believe is called “Home Edition” on my PC. That's what it was called when it was first installed. It looks like Update Manager has given those of us on Home Edition one choice which is the “H...

The New look DDM

Don't know when this happened because I haven't looked for a long time, but I just noticed the look & feel of Device Driver Manager has changed. New look DDM.jpeg It no longer says which driver is currently installed. Although I'm pretty sure that I'm currently running one of the NVIDIA drivers it d...

Re: How to completely remove gimp.

Thank you Grizzler and thank you MAYBL8. Firstly, it surprises me that there's no simple way to completely delete all files associated with any particular application. Windows\Recently Closed Docks made the Tool Options reappear but it appeared in a ridiculously large size and in an inconvenient loc...

How to completely remove gimp [Solved].

The tool box window in gimp is not working like it used to. The tools are there but the associated options for the tools do not appear. For example when the brush tool is selected, brush shape options don't show up. Similar problems with the other tools. See image. Gimp tool box window.jpeg I want t...

Hmm,
After a reboot the above mentioned applications are launching and behaving normally.

I'll keep an eye on this and report back if this problem reoccurs.

Some apps won't launch after UP 2014-10-15

Just discovered a couple of applications which won't launch via Kickoff Application Manager. Terminal (Konsole) won't launch but root Terminal (Konsole as root) does launch. Also, LibreCAD won't launch. It's the first time I've tried these apps since Update Pack 2014-10-15. Anyone else having this k...

Re: Strange behavior of dolphin find search

Same problem here on my 64bit SolydK Home Edition. Solved by reading through this thread and taking the following steps. 1>Installed baloo-utils Reboot Result>Invalid protocol message stopped appearing but search did not work. 2>Added [Basic Settings] Indexing-Enabled=true to the beginning of /.kde/...

Thanks for the images Zill.

Under Default languages for documents I had English (Belize) selected. I don't know how that selection came about but changing it to English (Australia) solved my problem. I really should have spotted this earlier.

Re: [Talk] Home Edition security updates

I tried Nvidia again with those 2 packages pre installed.
Thought it might make a difference but it didn't.

Never mind, I'm sure it'll get sorted out down the track.

Thanks.

Re: [Talk] Home Edition security updates

Scott, from your output it looks like nvidia-alternative and glx-alternative-nvidia were installed. So glx-diversions and glx-alternative-mesa must have been pre-existing. Is it correct to assume that packages glx-diversions and glx-alternative-mesa are a prerequisite to installing the Nvidia driver...

Re: [Talk] Home Edition security updates

Regarding the packages

glx-diversions
glx-alternative-mesa
glx-alternative-nvidia
nvidia-alternative

Are they supposed to be installed prior to the Nvidia driver or do they get installed at the same time as the Nvidia driver?

At present I'm using Nouveau and these packages are not installed.
