i have solydX (32bit) running on a pair of old Dells that wish they had the specs of that Gateway :lol: things are mostly left stock, but those machines work juuuust fine and they could NOT handle 7.... heck, they barely ran XP :o i have found new love and use for much old gear by finding SolydXK......

is there a way to test a system for reboot failures without rebooting? i know its always been a dark side of the Moon moment when you do a kernal upgrade and reboot... but a lot of new tools have come out while i got old... is there anything that tests the sanity of a system for reboot yet? wishfull...

er, it cant just be this easy after you have poked at it, so, this isnt meant as a solution, just a confirmation that you arent wasting time... i use Skype here on SolydK and i believe i have run it on SolydX this way as well... for me it was: sudo apt-get install skype since it was the normal insta...
