[Solved] Repositories in UM

Hello guys, I know someone had similar problem, but I couldn't find it anymore so created new topic. Re: Sleep and Hibernate on SolydK

I have similar problems with the audio from time to time and I reckon it's KDE related, all I do in such cases is just restart X using Ctrl+Alt+Backspace and after that usually everything is fine. Hope next release will fix the problem.

Re: Limit CPU performance

Thank you, I'll give it a try, in fact I'm not even using fancontrol as BIOS takes care of the fan speed better, looks like no tool can get variable speeds of the fan, tried i8kutils (my laptop is Dell 15R 5537) and fancontrol but the both can only use half-speed or full-speed, where BIOS fan contro...

Re: Limit CPU performance

Thank you kurotsugi, I was looking on some examples of cpufreq settings on internet but couldn't find any based on performance and time scale together. I'll take a better look in this when I get some free time. I'm wondering now, is there a way to check frequency realtime? I mean - yes it is, but ho...

Limit CPU performance

Hello guys, I was wondering whether it is possible to limit CPU performance with some time conditions. On my Dell laptop I have i5 4200U (Haswell) and when I start some heavier app such as Chrome, Package Manager, Updare Manager etc... it uses 100% of the CPU power and gets hot quickly, I mean reall...

dual booting with Windows8

OK, now, as I asked where to install GRUB in EFI mode in this post, after following Schoelje's instructions, I still can't get it working straight away. So, here is what I tried: 1. Downloaded newest .iso and loaded via unetbootin onto USB key 2. Ran SolydXK live (had to choose "without Plymouth" as...

[SOLVED] where to install EFI GRUB?

Hi, I have few questions about installing because I slowly loose my nerves 1. If my /boot/efi partition is /dev/sda1 do I point the installer to install GRUB onto that one or onto /dev/sda? (in LMDE I pointed onto efi partition itself, not the HDD and it worked) 2. Do you need an active internet con...
