Adding a short cut to the menu (SOLVED)

Is there a way to add a program to the Application menu?

I just installed the web browser Icecat and would like to add it's execute file to the Internet folder in the Application menu.

I looked around but couldn't find anything.

I have all the latest updates.

Re: Thunderbird 52.5.2 Changes?

I've maid some progress in understanding what's going on here. I purged Thunderbird and all related files then reinstalled with a new profile and Thunderbird now opens web links in the mail client and bamboo. Thunderbird will only open links in Firefox or Pale Moon even though Vivaldi is set as defa...

Re: Default browser Issue

xdg-open https://www.solydxk.nl - Vivaldi opened this one. No suitable library for HTML5 MP4 (H.264/AAC) video and MP3 audio was found, therefore only open codecs will play. Re: Default browser Issue

Odd. I just set everything to vivaldi again and it's definitely vivaldi opening Thunar's help link. What's in the WebBrowser line in your ~/.config/xfce4/helpers.rc file? Mine says Vivaldi-snapshot then I tried the thunar help link and FF opened it. Both vivaldi and FF say they are the default brow...

Re: Default browser Issue

That's what should do it and on my system it does: I installed vivaldi, changed the entry for text/html to vivaldi and doubleclicking an html file in my filemanager opened it in vivaldi. Mine does this as well but I have never had a problem with opening html files using Vivaldi, it's about system l...

Re: Default browser Issue

I fixed the priority using this: sudo update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/x-www-browser x-www-browser /usr/bin/vivaldi-snapshot 201 $ sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser [sudo] password for troypulk: There are 5 choices for the alternative x-www-browser (providing /usr/bin/x-www-brows...

Re: Default browser Issue

IIRC that one is regulated by mimeaps.list. you can right click the link > open with other application > pick the browser. next time you open that link it should be opened with that browser. I know this works with html files. For example go to thunar and click on help then about and you will see a ...

Re: Default browser Issue

No,

I clicked on a link in Thunar and FF opened it.

I want vivaldi to open the link in Thunar.

Both vivaldi and FF say they are the defaults browser.

I want to make vivaldi the system wide browser and

Code: Select all

sudo update-alternatives --config x-www-browser
doesn't work.

Default browser Issue

I have 5 browsers and I was messing around with the default browser settings and no matter what browser was was set as default, the default browsers would only switch between Firefox and Pale Moon. So right now I have 2 default browsers at one time. When I set Vivaldi as default it does not take the...

Re: Connecting Android devices

I have a OnePlus One running CyanogenMod 13.0 using Android 6.0.1

My USB configuration options are:
charging
mtp
ptp
usb ethernet - RNDIS
audio source
MIDI

I think it is something either in Thunar or EE because it works just fine in a stock 32bit system.

Re: Connecting Android devices

solydx could handle both mtp and ptp protocol natively from thunar. nothing else required. just make sure your usb mode is mtp (for all files) or ptp (pics only) I'm using Android 6.0.1 and Thunar will only do ptp through "Removable Drives and Media" using shotwell, mtp does not work, at least I ha...
