Re: Blocked updates?

Have you tried to just purge gnupg-agent in terminal?

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get purge gnupg-agent
Note: gnupg-agent is a transitional package for gpg-agent.

Re: Blocked updates?

Please, run these in terminal (as you found out, a GUI won't help you here): sudo dpkg --configure -a sudo apt-get install -f sudo apt-get upgrade The first two will hopefully fix what is broken. The last one will upgrade your system and when it fails, you need to copy the output in your post so tha...

Re: Blocked updates?

You should execute the last command or else we won't see what exactly goes wrong.

Re: Firefox newtab advertising

I just tried to put these settings in /etc/firefox-esr/syspref.js but to no avail. user_pref("browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.disableSnippets", true); user_pref("browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.aboutpreferences", false); user_pref("browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.favicon", false...

Re: Blocked updates?

Please, open a terminal. First, I'd like to see which repositories are configured: inxi -r Select and copy the output to use in your post. Now, update apt cache: sudo apt-get update After that, I want to see what's going wrong: sudo apt-get upgrade Select and copy the output to use in your post.

Re: Thunderbird 60.3.1 (64-bit) doesn't open hyperlinks

If it includes deactivating apparmor: No. Opening hyperlinks from emails by clicking them is inherently dangerous behavior IMHO. People who insist on doing so should configure that manually. I can provide a script with thunderbird-solydxk-adjustments that users can run to enable hyperlinks in Thund...

Re: Firefox newtab advertising

I checked it myself and, just as you found out, FF ESR ignores or overwrites some settings in distribution.ini with their hard-coded settings.
There's nothing we can do about that, except providing a prefs.js file in the skel directory which is not permitted by Mozilla.

Re: Thunderbird 60.3.1 (64-bit) doesn't open hyperlinks

Wiki: AppArmor ("Application Armor") is a Linux kernel security module that allows the system administrator to restrict programs' capabilities with per-program profiles. Profiles can allow capabilities like network access, raw socket access, and the permission to read, write, or execute files on mat...

Re: Thunderbird 60.3.1 (64-bit) doesn't open hyperlinks

I know that this is an old thread, but this has become a personal issue for me since I upgraded to buster. The following worked for me. Disable apparmor for Thunderbird: sudo ln -s /etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.thunderbird /etc/apparmor.d/disable/ sudo apparmor_parser -R /etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.thunderbir...

Re: SolydXK 10 Testing [updated: 31-07-2019]

Until they are released they are updated regularly if not often, especially when a new release is coming. As you found out, there is a risk of downloading an ISO while they are updated. It is better to wait until the new ISOs are released or download during the night (Europe). There is no release da...

Re: SolydXK 10 Testing [updated: 31-07-2019]

/etc/solydxk was not on SolydK. I removed it manually from the SolydX ISO. The /etc/fstab.d directory was created by the live-installer-3 because live-config seemed to need it. I remember that when I removed it, I couldn't get passed lightdm. I just tried again without the directory and I had no iss...

Re: Misc installer improvements

I'll use 500MiB for a new EFI partition. It is the same size as the minimal /boot partition size. For backwards compatibility I will leave existing EFI partitions to a minimum of 100MiB or else the installer will not install because the minimum size has changed and the user will be forced to change ...

Re: SolydXK 10 Testing [updated: 31-07-2019]

Currently there are only new translations for the SolydXK packages.

I think it is time to release the ISOs.

Do you agree?

Re: Misc installer improvements

It took me a full day to solve this one. The source is getting hard to maintain and I found out that I had to adapt code on three places. I reduced that to two by eliminating the quick menu when you right-click on a partition. It will now show the edit window which now contains all the logic. The ne...
