[SOLVED] SolydK EE with raid0

Hi all, This morning I have installed the EE version of SolydK in a virtual machine on VirtualBox. Since I love raid0 I tried this in this machine as well, but things did not go as planned. I did: made partitions on 2 separate virtual disks installed mdadm used mdadm to create the MD's (raids) made ...

Libreoffice Quickstart

Hi, After installing SolydK and booting into it I was welcomed by a welcome menu. In it I could install Libreoffice 5, something I like. With Libreoffice I am used to have the quickstarter so whenever I need a Libreoffice program it starts instantly. The setting to switch on the quickstarter is not ...

Re: How to get panel background 100% transparent?

In Desktop Settings I only see View and Mouse Actions in the left field. There is not much I can change there. Am I missing some menu items, if so why and how to make them visible?

Re: How to get panel background 100% transparent?

Thank you gentlemen for your help. @Schoelje: as I wrote in my initial message, when I use folder instead if desktop the icons appear very small. I know how to enlarge them one by one, but since I have a lot of them it is a lot of work. Add to that the fact that it is difficult to make them all the ...

Hello Zill and thank you for your answer. I can not find the settings you wrote but I think they are for XFCE, right? Now that I read your message I have been searching around and I don't quite know if I described my "problem" correctly. snapshot1.png When you look at the picture you see my first "G...

Okay, thank you for this info. But what does it mean for the length of support of the packages, compared to Ubuntu and Mint?

But SolydXK is what is LMDE to Mint, right? Only with other DE's.
Or did something change which I am not aware off?

How long is support for packages?

Hi all, I was just reading an article on the LinuxMint forum about the length of support for packages in the new Ubuntu 16.04 LTS distro, soon the be followed by Mint 18 LTS. It turns out only the core part of the distro is maintained for 5 years, large parts for "only" 3 years, some only 9 months a...

Re: Shrinking SolydX ISOs

... Another way of looking at it is quite the opposite: make the ISO as small as possible by only add the kernel and some needed packages. Make the installer very extensive so during installation you can choose exactly which package you want and which you don't want. That way the result is an insta...

Re: Shrinking SolydX ISOs

I was thinking about suggesting to remove LibreOffice from the SolydX ISO default install. It's overhead many people don't need and it's easy to install afterwards (might go into Solyd Welcome). Would the ISO shrink too? I'm just curious: Did anybody ever try or calculate how much the SolydX ISO co...

Re: In Memoriam: Ian Murdock

This is indeed a very sad day, especially when you read the blogs he wrote. Whatever happened there?
If a person like the founder of one of the greatest distro's suddenly dies then this is indeed a major loss to the whole Linux community.

Re: Have to buy a new keyboard

Well, those were wikipedia links about key switch technology - some kinds that "click" noisily, some that don't. You can't expect to find keybord models there! I know, but from that website you can click to links to the Cherry websites but still I couldn't find what I am looking for. Just standard ...

Re: Have to buy a new keyboard

To me that many keys would be overkill. But I have a "Logitech classic keyboard 200" that has the "Home, End, Page Up, Page Down, Insert and Delete" keys like that - which I find rather annoying. :) Each his own, but I just love it. The Page Up and Page down keys next to each other make life so eas...
