Re: Wallpaper for the upcoming Stretch-Testing build

Certainly prefer this to the current out the box wallpaper, maybe under the word "SOLYDX" (or SOLYDK) you could added something like "built on Debian" ? Good idea! (I should have thought of that. ;) ) https://s19.postimg.org/c458yha5f/pbd.png http://thumbnails117.imagebam.com/53212/2d7c36532116173....

Re: How to update?

Well, I found the answer to the update problem. It turns out when you right-click the update icon in the taskbar Discover opens with simple user privileges. Updating the distro requires root privileges, so clicking the update-all button did not do anything, not even ask for a password. I did see a l...

How to update?

Hi all, I have solydK-Ee installed and when starting I see I have 695 updates waiting. I right-click the update icon and select update. Discover is opened, I see a button "update all" which I click and I then get the long list of updates waiting. What then? Where is the button to start the update pr...

Please no dark theme. Dark is un-ergonomic and thus (in europe) forbidden on workplaces in an business environment. According to ISO (too lazy to look up number) the background has to be a light color. I know you can change themes but the distro should be suitable for workplace ootb. Which themes d...

The distro is great but so far honestly is the appereance very poor and not particularly nice... And that's a pity!
What do you use, SolydX or SolydK, and which theme are you using?
What would you like to use?

Today I received an email from Jonathan Wiltshire, member of the Debian team. Re: Thank you all for your donations

People, please use Distrowatch to get to SolydXK. Today the long term counter showed position 103, 1 less than last week. This has to change. Use distrowatch.com, in the right column scroll down all the way, click on more statistics, scroll down again till you see SolydXK on pos 103 in the left colu...

as long as you're not using nvidia or intel graphic, the hdmi port will work. It only works with AMD graphics? Not with Nvidia and not with Intel? arrow choice. How come? Re: Thank you all for your donations

I see that filling in a name and email address is compulsory. How can anyone make an anonymous donation? Why being anonymous? Aren't you proud of helping somebody, or in this case helping the continuation of a distro you like to use? On the Mint website they show the names of the donors so everyone...

Re: Breakages and News tracking Debian Testing

I hate KDE. And that's putting it mildly. I can't even write what I think about its developers without getting kicked off this forum. From a programmers view I don't know how well KDE is programmed, but from a user's view I can only say it is almost perfect. I use it for around 6 years now, I would...

Frank, just read this post and I have found the following issues with SolydK-EE: Installer shows no fields to enter data like name, username, etc. You just have to guess where to click the mouse "to be inside the field" Adding new wallpaper in folder view settings gives message: Some categories are ...

Hi Schoelje, hi all, I, just as several others, have read Schoeljes report about the received donations and where he thanks us all, I have something completely different to write. First I have to write some other things and I want to start with the fact that I don't know how many people are here reg...

Did a test as well on my laptop with SolydX and Win10. Both showed the same, although much lower values than Grizzlers, for download and upload. All values were around 40mb/s. It's not high even though i sit here besides an accesspoint (a demoted router) but no difference between Linux and Windows. ...

Yes, I know what I suggested is a lot of text, but it is text people can read and as soon as they decide to start a new thread the text can disappear again. I have seen similar in the Manjaro forum, where at the bottom of the page you get 2 windows: the left one is the one you type your text in and ...
