Re: Japanese Language (Anthy) in Libre Office

Under Anthy preferences it has: share the same input method among all applications and it was checked already. It seems pretty global except for LO. It's frustrating because I know that Anthy does work to some degree in LO. It would be nice to stick to Anthy but I might try those packages, thanks.

Japanese Language (Anthy) in Libre Office

I have Anthy installed and I am able to write in Japanese within Firefox no problem, but once I switch over to Libre Office the ability is hit-and-miss, usually miss. What I encounter is that I press 'cntl + space' to switch, the taskbar icon shows a switch, but within the composition window the wri...

Re: SMPlayer, MPV, and video screen captures

So I ran the PPA code, and promptly b0rked my SMPlayer  It now opens up a thousand copies if I try to play a file or go into preferences. Is there a way to compile an up-to-date version of smplayer from code? I'm not super happy with VLC. Thanks for the help!

Re: SMPlayer, MPV, and video screen captures

^ I'm used to getting video screens captured at the press of a button, with the file name and time in capture. I can do captures as I am now, but they're cumbersome. When many captures collect in a folder with names like, shot003, things get messy fast. Renaming batches of files becomes neccessary t...

SMPlayer, MPV, and video screen captures

As a somewhat new convert from Windows 7 (six months) I've noticed that getting video screen captures with proper file naming is challenging in Linux. VLC refuses to accept the variables in the settings, and only outputs the names in the format "vlcsnap-date-time", and it doesn't save the audio equa...

Re: remove automatic login

Worked like a charm, you da man!

I actually hardly ever configure a system with the auto login but I was using SolydX for my gaming distro, with Manjaro as my main, and after a major update Manjaro no longer does suspend properly. So here I am :)

remove automatic login [Solved!]

This should be an easy question to solve but I haven't been able to find the solution.

During installation I chose 'login automatically' but now I'd like to require a password, how do I accomplish this?

Re: Install DVD does not boot

My system just ignores the Solyd media on boot, even if I press F12 and explicitly tell it to boot from ODD.

I did find the BIOS UEFI setting, it's on. The other setting is "CSM boot". Will booting from CSM allow me to install? Do I change it back after installing or something?

Re: Install DVD does not boot

Secure boot is off; There doesn't seem to be a UEFI setting.

I also couldn't get Mageia or PCosLinux to boot either. Manjaro and Mint boot.

Re: Install DVD does not boot

The media works fine on a non-EFI motherboard from 2008.
Thanks for the reply.

Any other ideas?

Install DVD does not boot [Solved]

I'm trying to install SolydX on a Toshiba L855D which already has Manjaro and Windows 8.1 on it. I was able to boot off of the GParted disk as well as the Manjaro install disk. Somehow I can't seem to get the Solyd media to boot, even after doing the "hold shift as you reset Windows" trick. Any idea...
