Update Manager

Just a quick question: In the Update Manager, why is Auto Refresh in Preferences set to "Refresh the list of updates every: 15 minutes" by default, when (in the production version) this list is scheduled to change (normally) on a monthly basis?

Nope, same error.

Do we need to take this out of Tutorials to some other forum?

You mean for once using SID fixes things instead of breaking them?

FWIW, I am using SolydX 64bit tracking "production" (to use the forum title)

Re: HOW TO: Install MenuLibre (menu editor) for XFCE

Get tarball HERE That link goes to https://launchpad.net/python-distutils-extra , rather than https://launchpad.net/menulibre. Is that what you intended? EDIT: After grabbing the tarball, I procceded as instructed. All went fine untill the very end when instead of the last line of output (Writing /...

Re: Modifier l'affichage des rubriques du menu xfce

for that you need to edit config files; Yup, that's the hard way :( I really don't know how they did it, but Xubuntu (at least from 12.04 on) has figured out how to make alacarte work very very well with the <entire> menu (at least in my experience and opinion). Maybe they just re-wrote the whole m...

Yet another way to get to the same app, which in this case does turn out to be alacarte. But you still can't edit all the menu with it :(

GNOME Color Icons

The icon selection in SolydXK (at least X, I haven't checked K because I don't use it) is a bit sparse and utilitarian. If I could suggest another icon set for inclusion, the GNOME color icon set (you can see them at: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=82562 ) is a very nice ensemble in ...

Re: Modifier l'affichage des rubriques du menu xfce

IIRC, alacarte was designed to do this with XFCE. I know Xubuntu uses it to great affect (they call it Main Menu in the menuing system, but I think it's still just alacarte). Maybe the SolyX(K) team (hi Schoelje :)) can take a look at how they implemented it and follow suit? The devs there are great...
