Re: gksu not working

I did, but it made no difference, so...
after that I 'removed and installed' sudo etc.
Restarted..
And now it looks like it's okay again.
Something could have been broken. I re-installed my old SolydX to a new pc via Systemback.

Re: gksu not working

It is the same here but the only difference: I see 'su' instead of 'sudo'.

It says: Incorrect password; try again. Etc.
Kdesudo is okay.

Re: Another Remaster Question

The best thing I found for producing your personal 'live-media' this far is 'Systemback'. It does simply and perfect what is needed. It does more than making ISO's when you can run the full software. It can even make restorepoints and copy a system to another partition, repair etc.. I think all user...

Re: Update fails..?? [SOLVED]

Great solution, Bas. It works like a charm. Ik ga het ook in een ander systeem hier op de machine proberen. Dank! ;)

Re: Update fails..??

Yes, it's right now FinnFann. I went to /etc/default/grub, deleted 'quiet' (I think not necessary; it is the listing on screen), changed 'splash' in 'nosplash', saved the file and did 'sudo update-grub'. That made it persistent. Did the update to Jessie and that workes fine. Thanks very much! ;) :3...

Re: Update fails..??

When I have some time I will test it.
(I have the old SolydX-version again on the partition, so I redo the update. It takes some time. )

Thanks for the tip FinnFann! ;)
Where do I put -nosplash (booting this multiboot-system from a bootloader in PCLOS)?

Re: Update fails..??

I don't use nvidia, FinnFann. I have an old narrow monitor hp 1702; could that be an issue?
What do you advice now? (I'm not very good in this.. :D I'm not in a hurry, so maybe this will be corrected in the Kernel?? Then I could try again. )

Update fails..?? [SOLVED]

After the last upgrade of SolydX 64bits I had 'input signal out of range' at boottime and no boot.
So I went back to the old version from Clonezilla clone, which I am working from now.
What could that be, please?

Re: Now they want to fork Debian?

So why no 'step back' then for Debian? Ultimately they are going to suffer too I suppose?
