Re: Remastering

Thanks Schoelje. I studied often on this constructor, but I never have seen it working right. I don't quite understand it. And I don't see what it does (no indicator. PC doesn't show anyting ??). What I search is a simple one-click complete backup of the OS in an ISO so I can burn it on cd/dvd or pu...

Remastering

Very important for me: I backup the system with Clonezilla. But... when the Operating System has to be transferred to another machine, or to make a pendrive with on it the system, an iso is needed to see if things can work on a livecd/dvd etc. And of course for a right install or when hardware is ch...

Re: Tiny irregularities in browser..

I have done the last update. Large one. But this does not change what I mentioned earlier. In Chromium on some sites the mouse does not select a part of a sentence in the normal way. :) (Selection in the adressbar then is normal, but it still does not work right in for example: http://www.amsterdams...

Re: Tiny irregularities in browser..

It is no hardship or what is the word? :D It has something to do with the mouse-software I think. The mouse is not always doing what it should. It's only in Chrome. I don't use Thunderbird. I like Sylpheed. :) I've switched for the moment fully to Firefox and maybe another browser like Midory or Sea...

Re: Tiny irregularities in browser..

I did and I remember it was right (checked with GtkHash) or else I download again. I'm not sitting on my hands in the meantime. It is this problem I think: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?p=330525#p330525 Read to the bottom please. :D So the status here is now: (I noticed it and 'spoovy' too)...

Re: Tiny irregularities in browser..

Your sources.list looks good. You have Intel graphics. That shouldn't be a problem either. The other "small things" seem unrelated. Did you have these problems when you ran SolydXK live? No, I did not see them. But I don't test a livecd for a long period. :) By the way, while I write and paste zero...

Re: Tiny irregularities in browser..

That's odd, inxi is installed on all SolydXK distributions. :? You can install it from our repositories: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install inxi It says: E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable) E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var...

Do you have this kind of behavior in other programs?
No. And not in other distro's.
I have here PCLOS KDE 2013, LMDE Xfce, Xubuntu immediately available.

Then:
inxi -Fxx
inxi: command not found

Thank you for your patience. ;)

Re: Tiny irregularities in browser..

It is not difficult to explain. If the thing occurs I can't select the whole text-slice , but I have to start with only one word with a mouse dubbel-klick. After that I have to go to the end of what I like to select, press Shift of the keyboard, click mouse and there you have the selection. Then the...

I thought I had found it in a Chromium extension and I anounced it here (it wás better, I could see it only just on one site) but later it was there again. So the search goes on. :D

Tiny irregularities in browser..

Browsers in SolydX work different and I don't know if this is meant to be so? The layout of screens and fonts are not quite like in other distro's, sometimes scrolling hangs, (which is correctable by the way) emoticons look sometimes very small compared to text. Chromium: in some forumcomposers (or ...

Re: Afraid of the "freezing" period in Debian Testing.

The purpose of SolydXK is not to have the best DE, nor to have the latest software. That is mearly a means to an end. Its purpose must be found in helping people do their jobs, and hopefully have some fun along the way. A young company like SolydXK needs focus, and focus starts with knowing your li...
