just out of curiosity which were the packages that were updated?

Re: Updater Glitch

i completed now a somewhat big update in my BE install (over 80 packages) with the UM and in the end it reports that the system is up-to-date. of course that means little because we all have different packages installed and the "issue" might be elsewhere. can you please share the output of inxi -r; ...

Re: Breakages and News tracking Debian Testing

Lots of Gnome related items with version number 3.14 today. Forced me to switch to a different theme as all option and radio buttons in GTK+3 GUIs disappeared with the one I was using (Greybird; oxygen-gtk doesn't work either). Also messed up Evince which no longer remembers all of the screen posit...

Re: ISO testing 201410

i'm installing the latest SolydK-64bit ( from 05-Nov-2014 08:09 ) and i noticed also a few issues. this time it seems like it's going to finish without issues. i would recommend (from my experience so far) to: 1. check that you have an active internet connection (this is a known issue but the propos...

Re: can't print after update

Hi
can you, please, share the terminal output of

Code: Select all

file /tmp
if it says

Code: Select all

/tmp: symbolic link to `/var/tmp'
you need to run these commands

Code: Select all

sudo rm /tmp
sudo mv /var/tmp /tmp
sudo mkdir -m 1777 /var/tmp
sudo reboot
report back after that

Re: UP 2014.10.15

I know this is actually a kernel option, but... well... systemd... (I seem to remember reading a discussion between a systemd and a kernel developer where the latter called the former an idiot - I do believe it was Linus himself, so no surprise there - for using the same keyword for a systemd optio...

yeahh. what is now the Business Edition will become the Main Edition and what is now the Home Edition will be the Enthusiast's Edition. (1) Automagically all systems will be converted to Main Edition (Stable); the decision to track EE will need user intervention [the rationale behind this is IMO sim...

Re: Debian Testing froze today Oct, 5th, 2014

Will SolydXK be abondoning the quarterly UP after we transition to Debian Stable? It appears to me the UP really servers no purpose anymore as Debian Stable bug fixes could be passed on the the SolydXK user immediately after their release. like Zill said above, the UP will be discontinued after the...

I found no better information other than this site https://bugs.debian.org/release-critical/ :3 Auto-removals ============= For the avoidance of doubt, auto-removals on the basis of RC bugs will continue throughout the freeze. If necessary, a manual removal may take place before the auto-removal de...

Re: intel - *ERROR* too many voltage retries, give up

do you experience the same error with the previous kernel?

from here >> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70117 i can see that it is not fixed yet on 3.17-rc2 although there's patches for the issue;
it affects as far as i can see several brands/models with haswell gpus.

Re: pulseaudio misbehaving!

just out of interest - can you please explain what happened exactly? in one word: systemd ;) it doesn't like that symlink and it might break, varying from system to system, cups (the most frequently reported), pulseaudio (we've seen a few as well) or a general degradation in the system performance ...
