Re: Firefox crashes

Firefox and Thunderbird always do that on my machines (~/.xsession-errors has loads of those messages). It never leads to a crash, though. yep, same. after updating to 33.0.2 i get this output (FF runs ok though) zerozero@home ~ $ firefox (process:3755): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assert...

Re: HOW TO: Remove systemd and use sysvinit

the OP (at least so far) is not a tutorial. the blog post linked is not a tutorial either (not even an howto); i have to agree with I'm not even sure if the writer have tried that on his system. with the latest systemd I saw no one could have a working system on debian. i almost bet the blog post au...

The update icon is still showing updates needed. Should I try the updater again now? *ETA: Tried it, still not working. we used the -s switc...

Re: ISO testing 201410

looking closer at this iso (and also the 2014.10 Oct 15th) i noticed that file indexing (baloo) is active (1) and that is a) a change from the previous isos and b) probably not a very good default knowing that search&indexing can be very cpu-intensive. - would it be possible (while you wait for the ...

Re: ISO testing 201410

here are those VM's settings snapshot327.png [the same i give to all my VM's] 1. it's surprising that it works (apparently only for me) as smooth as all the other isos did before. 2. as far as i understand Schoelje has now a general regression: not even the Oct 15th isos now behave normally. 3. i sa...
