And seems I don't have it installed either. orbmiser@winterfell ~ $ apt show libgstreamer1.0-libav E: Unable t...

Re: Strange behavior of dolphin find search

Yep could have saved a few steps by just installing baloo - Transitional package for baloo4
And it would have pulled down and installed baloo-utils & baloo4 for you.

Re: link to version list?

Look, I've just about had it with *your* attitude. Knock it off with the double standards. I post a simple question and without knowing anything about me posters heap the usual newbie derision including words like "idiotic". I don't mind entertaining questions as part of a well reasoned dialog, but...

Re: Now they want to fork Debian?

Don't think I would stay with any distro that gut-react jumpa to fork. Maybe if user base is vocal and wanting to switch. Then as a distro I would slowly implement a change over after the smoke cleared and the fork showed some stability and long-term support intentions. Instead would rely on the com...

Re: Now they want to fork Debian?

@Orbmiser: I think if humans are involved, it will always involve some drama and politics. I guess it's inevitable. Which I guess the idea of if you don't like it, build your own is what people often resort to. Sometimes it produces great things, sometimes not. Yep unfortunately that creates emotio...

Re: Now they want to fork Debian?

Why pro-systemd and anti-systemd people will never get along. http://uselessd.darknedgy.net/ProSystemdAntiSystemd/ I’ve seen it countless times already, and there was virtually no variation from the archetypal formula. You have two ardent and vocal sides, roughly classified into an opponent/proponen...

Re: Strange behavior of dolphin find search

Thanks Orbmiser, is that mean you need to have a full installation of baloo and enable it? Because I think I don't need to use it, so it's impossible to work without file indexing? Baloo is already intstalled partially before installing these additional packages. And no has nothing to do with file ...

Re: Remove systemd, return to sysvinit

Well many of the reasons for systemd advantages are not apparent to the users. systemd has a strong separation between system-supplied units, which go in /lib/systemd, and sysadmin-supplied units, which go in /etc/systemd. This is very helpful for keeping track of the latter. you can override a syst...

Yep there is that and totally agree about RH and their systemd minions. But and is a Big But what we can do about it? More and More projects are shuttering out the user comminity. It is no longer a We for many projects. Like Conical,Gnome,KDE,eOS,etc.. The mantra today seems "We the Project Leader's...
