The problem is that in all tutorials about this they are dual booting linux with windows, my PC is new, it doesn't have any OS install on it, so I need to create a efi partition...

Re: Issue with Pale Moon browser and GTK2 theme

When I first installed the Pale Moon browser (PM4Linux, see http://sourceforge.net/projects/pm4linux/ ) on my SolydK system, the application would close as soon as I clicked any drop-down menu on it's interface. On the Pale Moon forum I found a workaround for this problem: I changed the GTK2 theme ...

Re: SolydX 201405 seems to be succeeded but boot fail...

I just tried this http://askubuntu.com/a/145253 and replacing : sudo mount /dev/sdaX /mnt/boot by sudo mount /dev/sda3 /mnt/boot/efi but after reboot, no access to SolydX and the prompt is still here :-( So you have used chroot method as in your link, and still get stuck... I think something was no...

@wayne I thing what kurotsugi is trying to tell: use Unetbootin, and mind the 4 different menu entries. I use unetbootin, and use UEFI-San disk, end with grub rescue> By the way, these have been tested working with dd and installed on my Asus laptop in UEFI mode Debian 7.5 LMDE LM17, cin/mate/xfce ...

Bug in the Linux kernel

Read from elsewhere Last week it was reported that a bug in the Linux kernel could potentially allow users on a Linux-based system to gain privileges and run malicious code. The flaw was introduced during the development of the 2.6.31 kernel and affects kernels up to version 3.14.3. http://distrowat...

^+1 Well said and I agree that little is truly secure and safe these days. At the same time, I try to stay more or less under the radar by not going "public" with Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn (I'm retired, why bother?), etc. If those who listen and monitor want to listen to my overseas phone calls o...

Do you already have old version installed?

If yes, you should uninstall it, use the same pminstaller.sh, select uninstall.

Wayne, The souceforge site had a link to install the latest version. It has a file called pminstaller but it installed 24.4.2 on my system and says it is the latest version. Re: What browser would be the best to use.

I've used FF for years and was hesitant to change but I've found Pale Moon to be smoother, quicker, and renders pages more crisply. Still on ver. 24.3.2 (64). Has never locked up on me or created any problems. Been using it as my sole browser since late Feb. only opening FF or NetSurf for some test...
